Re: Central waiting room
Scott bursts through the doors of the hospital's central waiting room from Army Street, looking around the room with wide eyes. Various people, injured, bleeding and crying. People of all ages, even kids with serious bite wounds. The smell of blood and an underlying rot was making him uneasy. "Shit..." He grimaced. There were more people in this room than there should have been, so he began to walk carefully through them. When he made it to the lobby, he turned and entered.

Re: Central waiting room
Scott steps away from the shutter, and looks around the central waiting room while the sounds of the zombies consuming flesh was yet audible behind him. His father had locked off the main lobby and entrance, to keep the infected fucks from advancing further... but that didn't mean they couldn't find another way in. "I gotta find survivors, get them back to the precinct." he said out loud, thinking it would be safer there than here where there were too many windows and security issues. He walked over to a map of the hospital, and inspected it carefully. "Right... from here, go through the Examination Room, swing over to the locker room, and I'll be in the 1st Floor Passage. Right, the Security Room's around there, I can see if dad left any ammunition, weapons." He spoke out loud, pulling the set of keys out from his side pouch. Blood dripped off the key ring, his father's blood... He closed his eyes. "Gotta get through this Scotty..." he says to himself, gripping the keys tightly. He couldn't afford to be an emotional wreck, or his father's sacrifice would be in vain. He turns to the door leading to the exam room, and begins his journey from there. Gotta warn survivors on the other floors, with the security room's monitors I'll be able to see everything. He thought, as he pushed on.

Re: Central waiting room
Rafe bursts into the room, sweeping side to side, Donna fired at one of the zombies he didn't see as she followed up behind him, and she called out being empty. He pulled the half mag from his trousers and handed it to her, since he didn't have the munition or mags to back her up easily. There was only one other zombie ahead of him lunging as he took the shot and blew its brains across the wall. "I... think we're clear." He says, but notices the zombies against the shutter, banging onto it, hands fitting through the gaps. He looked at them with revulsion. "So many people..." He mumbled to himself.

Re: Central waiting room
Regina sheepishly follows after them, but looks at the zombies locked up behind the slotted shutter, moaning and reaching out with bloodied hands. She gasped, and shakily pointed. "Th-That's Mr. Walsh... from security!"
The man, who was always nice to her but stern to lackadaisical staff and other members of the security team save Bob and Mark, was now grabbing onto the shutter... covered in multiple wounds, blood gushing from his mouth. His wide, white eyes locking onto hers and he let out a gurgling screech of hunger and malice!

The name caught his ear, and he turned to the former man Regina had been saddened about. "Wait, he isn't related to Scotty... is he?" He asked, and glanced back to the 1st floor stairwell. He looked back to the zombified Walsh, and began to raise his gun.

Re: Central waiting room
Scott pulled Jane into the room with him, slamming the door behind them while his baton was slowly rattling out of place on the second floor. He turned to her with a sweaty face, smiling. "Thanks for waiting for me." he then turned to the others. "All of you, lets-" He paused, and saw Rafe holding his gun up to someone behind the shutter. There were multiple zombies pushing against the shutters. "Hey man, don't waste your bullets, its-" he says as he stands besides Rafe and forces his gun arm down... only to see who he was aiming at.
The shock... turned Scott pale white. Standing in front of him, was his father... the one he watched get torn apart, the one who gave him the keys to the building. "..." he gasped, his mouth agape. The nightmare was consuming him... and all he could do was stare at the gushing blood, wounds and the familiar face of his father staring back at him...

He offered, as bad as that sounded. They had little time to stay, given whatever Scott did upstairs, it wasn't probably going to hold for much longer...

Scott shook his head. "No..." he says softly. "Like I said..." The 26 year old bows his head. "...we can't afford to sit here any longer. Waste bullets. Lets get going." He turned away from his father, holding back the warm sting in his eyes again. He had already seen his father die once, he wasn't going to watch him die again. These people... these people needed rescuing. Its what his father did, and would have wanted him to do. "C'mon, we need to get the fuck out of here." he says as he walked towards the door.

Re: Central waiting room
Jane watched the scene unfold and could hear the zombies above beginning to break through Scott's makeshift door bolt. As they struggled with their decision, and Scott resigned his father's apparent fate, she took initiative. She took several, barefoot steps to the zombies, and leveled the revolver's snub barrel against the zombie's head.
KA-BANG!
The sound seemed louder than anything, the small room flashed as the .38 slammed through the former Walsh's forehead with a snap, forcing him backwards and into the group of zombies.
"...its done." she says, lowering the gun.

Scott shuttered from the gun shot. He shivered, slowly turning to face the woman over his shoulder... his heart beat slow, pounding in his chest. "Why...?" he quivered, rushing the woman, grabbing her by her flimsy hospital gown! "Why you kill him?! He was already...ALREADY...!" he shouts at the emotionless woman, tears rolling down his cheeks as he shook her!

Rafe was just as surprised by the gunshot as Scotty was, and when he approached the woman, Rafe tried to intervene. "Scotty... pal, Scott, wait!" he was brushed aside and he watched him scream at the amnesiac as if she would understand... He closed his eyes, heaved his shoulders and sighed. This is a shit show... He thinks, reopening his eyes and stared at them. "Let'er go Scott."

There are times where we must make sacrifices, for the people we love. There are times where we let regret take hold, and are done in by it, destroying ourselves in the process. I spared you that pain, by putting your father out of his. He is no longer a puppet, he's now finally allowed to rest. I agreed with your idea to conserve munitions... but given this gun is in my possession, I did with it how I pleased. Don't make yourself suffer." She replied, still with that stoic expression.

He would have let that guilt eat at him, till he had to come back here and put his father down himself... and what would have happened if he did? His grip loosened, and he lets her drop back to her feet. He felt weightless... and he fell to his knees, the top of his head leaning forwards, wedged under the woman's bust. He didn't acknowledge it... he was sapped of his strength. "I..."

She slid around Scott, both handguns still in hand. She had only three more shells in the .38 Chief Special yet, and heads for the door ahead of them. She noted the zombies were drawn to the sounds of gunfire... and wondered if they could use that to their advantage...

Re: Central waiting room
At that moment, a figure emerged by the door, clearly carrying a weapon. It peered inside for a moment, noticing the few trapped people in there.
A deep voice then came through the glass. "Hey, is everyone OK in there?" he called out, as he opened the door.
"Outside is clear for now, I sent someone into the ambulance bay to rig up some transportation. We came here to try and get some medical supplies to take to RPD HQ and look for any more survivors." Ed explained to the two people in RPD uniforms.
"The other friend of mine is trying to get to the weapons and equipment in that police cruiser on Army St. Sorry if it's one of yours, but we'll all need all the firepower and supplies we can get."

When its safe, Irish will cover our retreat to the parking lot. I've got a bunch of keys from..." he paused, looking at his dad before looking to the survivors. "-Maybe one of them will work. If not, I can try to hotwire the thing. DAMN the shotgun! I still have a shotgun in the squad car, assuming both are still out there!" He added, as the door to the 1st floor passage began to pound hard... "Shit, they're here already?!" He spat, turning the Vp70 to the door. "Rafe, secure our exit, NOW!" he spat, fire back in his body.
Rafe smirked, glad to see Scott was back on the task again, despite the pain he was going through no doubt, but he had little time to reflect this as the door began to pound to their left! "On it!" He says, turning around to open the door when it opened! Rafe instinctively took aim... then lowered it as he stared up at the tall fellow peering inside. Silently he watched the larger man pull himself into the doorway, fully visible to be seen! Jaysus Christ... he's the bloody Juggernaut! He thought, but noticed the familiar shape of an AR-15 in his hands.

The words made him feel at ease, despite the pounding on the door frame beside them. "No time to explain for now," he began, the Irishman pointing to the door behind him. "we got company en route!" he then turned to Scott when he mentioned the squad car. "Scotty, that be your area of expertise take Donna, Regina, Janie, get out of here! I'll back up Juggernaut 'ere, just toss me another clip, me gun's almost dry!" his Irish accent coming out a little thick in the heat of things. As much as he wanted to leave this place, he wasn't going to let their new acquaintance with a rifle get bogged down by the zombies!

As they were about to make their exit, the large man made his entrance. "Holy shit, tall..." He said out loud, with little grace than the others. He blinked at the man for a moment, and then to Rafe. "Ah-r-right. Yeah, I'll help them out, I got the keys-" he paused, before fishing out the hospital keys. "Here big guy, keys to this undead castle!" he says, tossing him the security keys his dad had given to him in his final moments as a human.
The door to the 1st floor stairwell was pounding even harder now! "We really shouldn't be here, we gotta move!" He exclaimed, ushering Regina and the others into the street. "Head to the parking lot, I'll be with ya." he says, before turning to Rafe. "Here, last two on me, make use of'em." He says, throwing the M9 mags to the red head, before exiting with the others.

Rafe slipped the M9 behind his waistband and caught the mags, before sliding them into his pants pockets. "Jus watch yerself out there Scotty!" He says, before yanking the beretta back out.
GOBLIN 6 wrote:Unlike the others, Jane simply blinked at the large man unfazed. Given her amnesiac state, she wasn't sure of the norm, so was somewhat confused by the party's reactions to him. She listened to Rafe and Scott, nodding as she passed the large man silently, Rafe's vest hugging her voluptuous form snug and giving her some modesty aside from the drenched hospital gown which hugged her body tightly.
"Rafe, be careful." She says to the man before heading out with the others, pushing Regina ahead so she wouldn't get left behind.
Rafe blinked at Jane... and smirked. "Always, now get after them." He says with a wink. He watched her exit with Regina and Donna, and then turned to the door about to swing open... when the tall man turned the weapon to him?!
Edgar Holden wrote:Edward caught the keys and placed them in his chest pocket quickly, before he turned to the man who decided to stand with him, and handed him the M4 barrel first, along with three magazines from his pockets for the weapon. "Take these. You need the firepower more than I do right now" he said. Before he started making his way towards the struggling door, drawing a pair of very, very large knives from his back.
"Time to go to work." he said, a grim look on his face.
Rafe looked back at him, then silently took the weapon while he tucked the Beretta back behind his waistband again. Most assault weapons had the similar principal for use, and he understood how the weapon operated. He held the weapon by its fore-end, with the sliding butt-stock against his chest as he took the magazines in his left hand, and tucked them into the chest pockets of his button down. Two 20 round, and two 30 round mags of either .223 or mixed 5.56, he didn't have time to check. "Thank ya kindly," he said, checking the 20 round mag inside the rifle before sliding it back home. "'avent had to use one of these in a long while." He admits. "Some things ya can't forget though, even if ya want to."
He watched the man approaching the door. "I got ya covered." he says flicking the safety off and used the folding sights as he shouldered the weapon.

Re: Central waiting room
Zombies in hospital gowns, medical scrubs and just injured civilians in general staggered into the room! Arms raised, blood curdling cries, their soulless gaze set upon the pair of humans who stood in their way! It was hard to say how many where there, but two grabbed hold of Edgar while a pair slipped around him towards Rafe!
