However, in order to offset what was no doubt going to be loud automatic gunfire from the 5.56mm, he occasionally roared out, as he let out a loud cracking elbow strike or kick to try and draw the undead attention on him, rather than the sound of gunfire. The more Ed could kill, was more ammunition spared, and the less danger Rafe and the others would be in. From what he was beginning to learn, Ed believed he could take the abuse far more than they could. And he intended to use it to keep them safe if he could.

Edgar Holden wrote:As soon as the door splintered, cracked, then split open, and the hordes of undead, at least an even dozen so far, poured from the doorway, shambling at a rather alarming pace at them. As soon as the pair that reached for him touched him, Ed turned into a bladed nightmare, ne spin, dragging the pair of undead with him, and using them like makeshift clubs, he threw them at the oncoming hordes, before rushing in, blades singing in the air, whistling their metallic whisper, and the limbs, and scalps started to fly.
However, in order to offset what was no doubt going to be loud automatic gunfire from the 5.56mm, he occasionally roared out, as he let out a loud cracking elbow strike or kick to try and draw the undead attention on him, rather than the sound of gunfire. From what he was beginning to learn, Ed believed he could take the abuse far more than they could. And he intended to use it to keep them safe if he could.
Rafe couldn't admire nor be appalled by how deadly the tall man was with the horde, as he sliced and diced his way through, roaring like a mad man! He was focused on the stragglers, those who just barely avoided his taller friend's wrath or hadn't succumbed to the blows. He eased the trigger back, expecting it to fire in semi-auto, but when his body jerked back with a burst of bullets instead, he adjusted to compensate! Modified, wasn't expecting that! He thought as he fired the automatic at the creatures.
Last he fired an M4 was in 1993, when he and his SFA unit worked alongside American soldiers in Somalia. They had to wear US uniforms to blend in with the American troops. He turned the weapon to the next zombie, squeezing the trigger gently to only fire accurate bursts. The zombies blew back from the impact, their necks snapping back when the five-five six hallow points burst through their exposed skulls. As the man advanced, so did he, his focused aim as he walked forward with the training he had resurfacing after so many peaceful years, the gun's bursts jolting against his shoulder making him recall the counter terror missions he had against the IRA, some were his own family members. He let the memories harden... his green eyes become a steely sheen as he wore an emotionless face, cutting down whatever the Juggernaut had not.
CLICK!
"Mag out!" He called out, his left hand shifting from the foregrip to the magwell, his thumb indenting the mag-release button, allowing him to remove the short 20 round mag, tossing it at one of the nearby zombie's heads in a casual lob, forcing him back into the tall man's swinging arms! He fished out a 30 rounder, and slid it up into the well, before re-cocking the weapon.
"Mag in, ready to roll!" He barked out, and went back to his burst fire method... before-
KA-CHING!!
Rafe heard the noise, and his eyes widened. He knew it well, the sound of the weapon malfunctioning, probably due to the modification's sheared sear needing some extra attention. "Fuck, stove-pipe!"
He tried to clear the jam by hand, tilting the rifle to the side, using his left hand to pull back on the trapped cartridge while the zombies kept coming! He still had his handgun for backup, but Rafe was confident he could clear the jam before they got too close, plus the big guy was doing a good job protecting his arse!

[To here if you want]
The group falling back like ragdolls to Edgar's superior melee offensive! Bodies thrown back into walls, smearing against the ceiling and tiled floor. Those Ed had not dispatched were being cut down by Rafe's marksmanship as the automatic weapon tore through them in his swathe motion. However, the gun jam snuffed out the automatic fire, and a few more zombies from the stairwell lumbered over to both men eagerly!

Ed resumed his attack, by throwing his left blade into the back if the head of one of the zombies approaching Rafe, then he turned on the rest, his fist and main-blade going back to town with slices and thuds echoing off the walls.
Ed didn't want to reactivate his powers yet, lest he scare the other people off. And he could tell from the looks on their faces, they had seen enough weird shit for one day already. Except for the woman in the hospital gown and vest... Something about her was detached.
In either case, he forced them back into the stairwell through sheer force of will, bottlenecking the undead in the doorway, and started piling on the corpses

I'm only visiting the pharmacy and storerooms to get ahold of whatever medicines and medical supplies we may need. Shouldn't take long. Go!"

"Sorry fella, not gonna happen!" He exclaimed, as one of the other zombies approached, and he swung the rifle against them while racking the bolt, dislodging the lodged round from the ejection port in the process! The said zombie was then impaled by one of the man's thrown knives, and as it was falling her grabbed the blade- the weapon slowly peeling out of the back of the zombie's head, and turned, noticing one of the zombies had grabbed a hold of the big guy's coat! He swiveled the blade around, grabbing it by its point, and then flung it forwards, into the zombie's head as well! As it dropped, Rafe gave the man a weary smile, and then shouldered the rifle again. "You might need some back up if we run into anyone else still alive fella." He explained, during the lull in combat, aiming the weapon up the stairwell and took out two approaching zombies with the rifle. "Rafe McCormac... photo-journalist for Raccoon Times." He introduced himself in an awkward manner, given his abilities it sounded a little far-fetched.

"Ed" he replied as he reverse gripped both blades, before becoming a whirl of swinging knife blades for a few more moments, aiming to decapitate or impale the remaining zombies quickly to buy them some breathing time.
"Seems like we just mowed down at least a wards worth of people down here... So many infected in one spot, what the fuck is going on in this city? This infection is spreading far too fast to be normal."

"Seems like we just mowed down at least a wards worth of people down here... So many infected in one spot, what the fuck is going on in this city? This infection is spreading far too fast to be normal."
Watching Ed's skill with the blades was impressive, and one of the five zombies with a head still on its shoulders began to crawl towards him, and yanking out the M9 with his left hand, he sets his boot down on its neck. "Tell me about it, I was at ground zero. A riot broke out at the Stadium, the reporter I work with got torn apart, and..." He paused, not wanting to mention the Chief of Police's... corruption. Since they were heading that way, he didn't want to get him involved with more shady shit. "It was a feckin' nightmare." He says pulling the trigger. The gun recoiled in his hands and the zombie under his boot died. He slid the handgun behind his waistband again, holding the rifle in both hands as he turned to Ed, changing the subject. "The officer ya met was Scott, the nurse is Regina, the brunette bombshell's Donna who saved me life, and the shell shocked woman with me vest is... well amnesiac. She called herself 'Jane Doe' like it was her real name. She's handy with a gun though... which is concernin', but... she's been handy. Said she was attacked by a giant frog-thing." he says, as he began checking the pockets of the deceased, or those who had them. He found a pack of cigarettes in the pocket of a doctor, which he found ironic, and squeezed the pack, drawing out a filtered cig, pulling it out the rest of the way with his lips. "Fag?" he asked, offering the taller man a cig.

"Now, from memory, we shouldn't need to go far for emergency medical supplies. Doctors station or outpatient pharmacy would be the place to go. We need sterilized equipment, medicines, bandages, and all that kind of thing. Might also need to visit the emergency treatment area for things like blood and saline packs. Something they wouldn't need to utilize the elevators or stairs for. Unless this hospital was designed by a braindead jackass."

Edgar Holden wrote:Ed frowned. "Sounds like the whole city's gone to shit in less than a day." he murmured. and shook his head at the offer of a cigarette. "Met Carrie, the woman in jeans and a brown leather jacket, last night, when she was dressed like she was going out to a dinner party. She was in the park, and being ingested, funnily enough, by a frog like creature I've never seen before. I can tell you first hand the damn things exist, because I had to rip the thing open with my bare hands to save her. Few minutes later I meet Riley McLeed, ho has barricaded herself inside her gun store, and has no idea whats going on. She was protecting her store from looters, until I told her the situation... I had to fetch her a police radio so she could stay in contact, Carrie and I went into the clocktower building courtyard to get it, and that's where we met Reiko the goth maid girl with a mean batters arm, and something far worse than zombies and weird mutated frogs. Some sort of living black mass that can assume the shape and form of people. It had consumed a costume party full of people in there... Ate them alive like that monster from the movie 'Blob'" Ed explained as he resheathed his knives.
"Now, from memory, we shouldn't need to go far for emergency medical supplies. Doctors station or outpatient pharmacy would be the place to go. We need sterilized equipment, medicnes, bandages, and all that kind of thing. Might also need to visit the emergency treatment area for things like blood and saline packs. Something they wouldn't need to utilise the elevators or stairs for. Unless this hospital was designed by a braindead jackass."
The confirmation of 'frog-things' made him frown. "Shit.." he says under his breath, packing the pack away then took out the doctor's lighter and lit the cig, coughing as he did. "Damn (cough) things... haven't smoked since I left the army..." he coughed, but inhaled anyway. After what he went through, slipping into the old bad habits didn't seem as bad. "Sounds like you've all had it just as rough..." as he listened to what had happened to Ed and his small group. The mentioning of the 'Blob' made him think of the remake phone booth scene and he grimaced.
At the mention of the Hospital layout, his lidded gaze was set upon the taller man's face. "You've never been to Raccoon before...have ya? The whole town is confusing. The hospital only has a single lift, accordin' to the Doc Mina who vanished on us. And get this- it's only access on the ground floor is in their staff room! How the hell do they transport the patients around here, the stairs?!" He coughed on his cig, before smirking. "Well, the place is actually larger than it looks. I guess there may be another lift elsewhere... but still, yer not wrong about the braindead jackass." He explained. He took a moment to ponder his mad rush on the second floor, recalling a Nurses station. "There's a nurses station up stairs, and past the shutter, in the main entrance thats swarming with the bloody bastards I believe may be a pharmacy. I can't tell with all them fecker's in the way!" he shouted, picking up one of the shoes of the fallen zombies and threw it at the shutter which the sealed up zombies were unable to break through in the Waiting room. "Oi, shut yer damn mouths, I can't hear meself think!" He shouted at the zombies, mostly to relieve his stress as the cig was too slow.
He collected the magazine he had thrown before, and pocketed it. "Either we wander about or look for a map. I've not the pleasure of being here till this morning." Rafe explained.

"If the supplies we need are on another floor, then we may need to make do with the paramedic supplies from the ambulance station until we can make a return trip, when we do not have so many vulnerable civilians out in the open like this. First priority is to get them to a safe zone. Supplies can be acquired in the field after that by a few runners. Food, medicine, weapons, ammunition and equipment. Along with fresh water that's not contaminated by whatever this contagion is. But all that is secondary to getting them to safety, and trying to find a way out of the quarantine zone."
He then turned back towards the entrance. "The supplies themselves arn't going anywhere. We'll come back later, better prepared and ready for war. I don't want to pop the cork on this place unless we're ready to deal with whatever horrors are in there. You said the frog creature came from somewhere inside the Hospital? Rafe looked at Ed for a moment as he said that. "Shite... two amnesiac's then, eh? You seem to have yourself more together though. I ain't too sure about Janie, but it seems you're both more equipped for this event than anyone else here." He replied. "Well, I've been here for a while, so I know more about the city than most foreigners." he smirked, the cig waggling in the corner of his mouth. He turned to the door then back to Ed. "Yeah, I'm worried about the ones we've got right now... Reggie may know the way around this place better than anyone, but the bird's too shaken to be of use right now I'm afraid."
He turns to Ed who headed back to the entrance. "Jane said she came from an upper floor, I saw it was on the fourth before she showed up... if so, its probably pissed 'n angry that she got away." He says, with a worried tone. "With some help from more officer's like Scotty, maybe the feck'n SWAT team may help."

It was a blur for Scott too. He was in full view of the creature, then suddenly with freakish strength, it tossed him and the vehicle aside like a tin can! "AAHHH!" Scott screamed, glass breaking, holding for dear life without his seatbelt, body flipping sideways his legs locked onto the driver's seat for some sort of hold as the world flipped around and shards of glass flew about! He heard the siren flip on, but was silenced as the megaphone was crushed and the top mounted flashers were crushed! He flipped upside down, losing his strained grip, hitting the ceiling of the sedan before the front bumper smashed into the solid structure of the Hospital, only shaking the building and breaking glass windows!

The building shook violently causing the pair to look at each other. "Right-" he paused as he saw Ed burst through the doorway, literally tearing the doors off its hinges! "-with...you..." He trailed off, but continued anyway. What ever was going on outside didn't sound good!

Re: Central waiting room
Faith Nyla Edwards has been the acting Chief Nurse of Raccoon City General Hospital/Spencer Memorial Hospital since last year, as the Director thought she was experienced enough and being younger may help boost the morale of the other nurses and residents. She was beautiful, 5'8 with long raven black hair, with a curvaceous body in her rather tight-fitting nurse attire. In spite of her desire to help and heal, she checked the body of the cop, and was glad to find a familiar firearm.
She withdrew a Browning HiPower from the holster, the 9mm was familiar to Faith as she had been romantically involved with a police officer within the R.P.D. for a brief time. Between slightly awkward get togethers, the young man brought her to the range often enough to fire off his handgun and learned how to use this particular weapon well. She checked the magazine and sighed with relief to see that the weapon's magazine was full, and that a round had already been chambered. She checked his side packs to find some other magazines. She realized another dead policeman was close by, and slowly she began rummaging them of useful supplies. In the end, she had 7 magazines (with one only holding 12 from the other officer's handgun- she didn't want to carry two pistols as she figured it be redundant and that her marksmanship wasn't on par with a Jon Wu film just yet). "About 90 rounds... god this looks heavier than I thought!" However, the busty nurse stowed away six of the magazines throughout her garments, with a couple tucked behind her bra. She also found a flashlight off one of them that still worked, which was to her relief as well. She didn't like the idea of wandering the dark corridors of the hospital with only a lighter...
Faith, now sure of herself, held the flashlight in one hand and the handgun in the other firmly. She took a deep breath before she headed for the Nightroom corridor.
