[from here]

Reiko's car swerved, she managed to regain control of the vehicle weaving between a number of these shambling things! "How the hell could there be so many of them now?! The streets were empty!" Thats when she felt another bump, and it was like driving on an oil slick, her vehicle was losing control again! "Oh fuck!" She screamed, as the Malibu spins out, slamming hard against the side of a building! Glass shattered, the right side of the vehicle squished against brick and masonry, Reiko's hands white knuckled to the wheel and the air bags deployed! Glass fragments bounced off her latex french maid attire, and littered the floor. "Uhhh..." The escort maid moaned, pushing the airbags away, pounding them out of her face before checking on the retriever in the back. "H-hey... are you okay back there?" She asked, looking around the corner of the driver's seat.

The dog looked at her panting happily as though nothing had happened... Slightly weird since they'd just been in a wreck, but then again it was just a dog.... Glancing out of the window the unit spotted the clocktower and relayed its location to Queen Mod1.01

Looking back to Reiko the dog yipped cheerfully as though its favorite human was about to take it for a walk on the park.

Looking back to Reiko the dog yipped cheerfully as though its favorite human was about to take it for a walk on the park.

She bowed her head and chuckled. Well they weren't hurt, so that was good. Neither was she, she noticed, for now. The building they crashed into was the lower stairwell of the Clocktower... where she was headed before all this craziness. She tried to back the car up, but found the engine was shot, smoke flowing out of the hood when she tried to gun the engine again. "Fucker..." She spat, when the ungodly chorus of the living dead made her head turn to the left. They were coming... the damn creature's were coming back! "No time, we gotta get out of here!" Reiko panted, reaching over for the bat, opening the door and then opened the back door for the retriever. She was going to grab her duffel bag for her clothes when one of the clammy creatures dove for her! "Jesus Christ!" She swings the bat against their skull, forcing the creature to the ground before she dropped one of her heavy goth boots down upon the skull with a sickening squelch!

She grimaced, wiping the blood and gore off her boot in the grass, before more began to approach. She couldn't fight them all off, so she fled up the steps, the barking and yapping of the dog was close as she went to secure the door, but found it was oddly locked! "What?! What is this?" She realized the door was like some sort of silvery steel construct, the door wouldn't open! "Hey!! Someone! Anyone?!" She banged on the metal door with her bat. "Help! We need help!" She screamed, banging again causing loud, heavy metal thuds. She looked around, noting the dead things were getting closer! "....Maid service?" She added, being facetious since they were going to DIE if the door didn't open! She wondered if anyone was even inside at this point, so she turned around, and got into a combat stance, bat in hand. This is a goddamn nightmare...

After jumping from the wrecked car and seeing the maid's progress blocked by the locked door the canine unit initiated defence mode...….

Combat protocols: Activated

Defensive parameter.... Protect maid.... defined and accepted

Maintain infiltration mode?.... Questionable.

The dog positioned itself between the Reiko and the crowd of advancing zombies. Her back to Reiko as she snarled and growled ferociously. She snapped at the undead as they drew closer. Discretely launching a tendril into one of the nearest. It shuddered and stopped, bumping into another nearby zombie transferring a part of Queen Mod1.01. The nanites targeted the zombie's brains, heading straight there, converting only minimal nanites on the way. By use of this process and the retriever infecting any that came close enough. The crowd of zombies began to thin as more and more became puppets of Queenie and began to shuffle away.

Dog could not keep this up however, as each one that was infected, cost her some of her own nanites. Each one weakening her fractionally.

Reiko watched the dog as it began to snap and snarl at the approaching zombies. "Get back girl!" She yelled, feeling protective of her fuzzy friend- however she noticed the zombies begin to stop as they got within range of the dog, their bodies shuttering slightly. This made it possible for the woman to smash them without much worry, swinging her bat away at the idle threats while the dog continued to bark. However, it seemed like there were too many of them, they just kept coming! "We can't take them all on...!" She gasped, as she swings her bat at another stumbling monster, smashing its skull before running back to the door!

THWACK! THWACK! THWACK!! She hit the door hard with her bat again! "HEY! IF ANYONE'S IN THERE, LET US IN! BEFORE THERE ARE TOO MANY OF THEM!" She barked, gritting her teeth tightly, turning to the creatures below again, watching the retriever equally put up a good fight against these things.

The approaching clusters and hordes were seemingly endless, drawn by the noise and movement., for every zombie that fell to Gwen's bat, or the Dog's bite, another emerged from the misty streets. Their sightless eyes ever fixated on them, moaning their haunting voices into the night sky. However, everything changed in a single moment when a man in a black flowing trenchcoat, wielding what looked like a streetsign like an axe, slicing his way into the mess of monsters like a cyclone from hell!

As the horde turned their attention to the flurry of movement and sound he caused, the doors opened to the Clocktower slightly. "Come in, quickly!" came voices form inside the building.

She exclaimed to the dog, running up the steps and hurried into the clock room chamber. She gasped, panting heavily. "Holy shit... thanks..." She explained, looking up at the fancy dressed survivors who huddled within.

Post by Queenie Wed Aug 07, 2019 5:39 am

The retriever sat in a corner panting. Holding off the undead had put a huge strain on her, stretching her nanite pool to the limit. She needed to feed and soon, the dog's eyes darted around the crowd and her tongue lolled as it almost looked as though she was smiling.

Assessment: Multiple targets located.....

Eyes scanning each survivor in turn.

Threat Assessment: 0.0%

None of them seemed to have any weapons that could harm her. She walked slowly amongst them, casually brushing against legs. Fabric, cotton and silk, provided no obstacle to her and slowly she infected a half dozen on the guests before one woman bent down to stroke her.

Combat mode: Initiated!

The retriever's head turned into a mass a black tendrils firing out and wrapping around the woman's arm, all the way up to her shoulder. The black mass began to strip the woman's bio-mass immediately flaying the flesh from her arm taking it down to the bone almost instantly. The retriever unit felt a rush of pleasure as it began to assimilate the human converting it's flesh into more of her own nanites. At this point, the retriever's cover was well and truly blown!

Reiko stood up, and smiled. "Heh, believe it or not, I was supposed to be here... what the hell is going on in this town?" She asked, somewhat calmly in spite of it all.

She turned to the other who mentioned the big guy. She shook her head. "I don't have a clue, he wasn't with me, he just appeared out of no where and drew those...things away from us, huh girl?" She smirked to the dog.

The dog's face split open, becoming multiple tendrils, shooting out to encompass a woman's arm! "Jesus!" Her voice became a high pitch shriek, watching with horror as the woman's arm began to flay to the bone!

Reiko felt confused, wondering if the dog was always like that... then again, it dawned on her suddenly... how can a dog be that pristine looking through this chaos? Be so trusting, and still even alive after all this?! She now felt betrayed. She went to strike the mass of tendrils with her bat, when the bullets began to fly! "Shit!" She screamed, ducking, noticing another door ahead of her, and pushed through it. She needed to get out of this place, it was a kill box!

Bullets thudded into the now writhing mass of tentacles that had once been a dog. They impacted harmlessly, slowly filtering through the dog's mass and dropping to the floor. More and more began to succumb to Queen Mod1.01's assault. The entrance way looked like a charnel pit, people could be seen pushing and straining against a thick membrane of nanites that coated them. Others tried to flee dripping nanites that were stripping their bodies as they moved. Still others were simply torn apart as they seemed to pose the greatest threat.

It took roughly one hundred human cells to create one nanite bot.

As the chaos ensued a golden retriever formed in the middle of the madness and padded towards the door Reiko had taken.

The Queen Mod1.01 unit made its way towards the clock tower entrance. She had just received a distress call from her scout unit and knew it to be damaged or disabled at this moment. Still disguised as Reiko the maid she stood for a moment at the solid metal door. Then the sound of bolts being drawn back and the door opened. Three apparent survivors of the retriever's destruction stood to greet Queenie. They of course weren't survivors but simply copies of the nanite monster's victims.

They all pointed in unison towards the direction the maid and dog had taken.

Carrie lead Ed back to the clock tower... and felt... odd. She could sense something amiss, and drew her gun. "Ed... there's something wrong with this door..." She explained, pointing to the black goo like substances squirming underneath the door frame. She glanced back to him. "We may have to use guns... I don't know what we're up against in there, but that looks sketchy as fuck." She say, pointing to the goo again. She looked back. "...there were people inside last time I was here... the socialites of Raccoon, if you will." she explained, a little worried.

"They are dead. All of them." Ed replied, his eyes unblinking stared at the black substance squirming beneath the door. he felt that familiar tingling sensation in the back of his mind, but didn't know what it was.

"We need to find a way around. Going through here would be a death sentence." Ed explained as he started looking towards either side of the clock tower.

She looked a bit amazed, but nodded. "Yeah... I got that vibe too now you mention it... glad I left to stretch my legs when I did..." She shrugged, sounding somewhat unsure of herself before turning to him. "Well, the other way's a bit longer, we'll have to go by the railway, and thats assuming we can make it over there..." she began, before glancing up. "Well... the other way... is over these buildings." She says, and she grabbed Ed. "Hey, stand over here, just like this." She says positioning him in a manner that he stood beneath a fire escape on a nearby building, the stairs leading up to the roof. "Gimme a boost..." She explained, pointing up. There was a ladder just out of reach for either of them. "I'll kick down the ladder and we can climb up, get a better look at where the cargo fell." She says with a smirk.

Ed nodded, and lowered himself down to a kneel so she could climb onto his shoulders easier. Then he stood up, hoisiting her over his head. His large frame giving her all the boost she would ever need. when Carrie gripped the ladder and pulled herself up, Edward waited, his head like a turret, looking around for potential threats. The moaning of the mutants, and the crackling of the fires ever present.

((ooc: Woops, didn't get my alert! :O ))

Carrie gently climbed over him, smirking. "Don't look up now~" She teased, as she was raised rather high. She was now at a perfect angle to pull herself onto the ladder and when she did, she climbed up and swiveled around. "Watch out below," she says, kicking the ladder a couple times. It was a little rusty, but with a solid kick it fell free and the ladder descended down to street level. "Thanks!" She called down, before climbing up the rest of the fire escape to the roof top to get a quick survey of the land. The roof was solid enough, and she was able to see other major landmarks in the city from there... save the police station; well not clear enough anyhow. She could only make out the tower... and the tall stadium walls further to the right from her view. "Hmm..." she says, looking around, looking down now at the garden of the Clocktower. She could see some movement from the windows looking in on the main foyer... and thought she saw someone being held in a chokehold... she wasn't sure. "What the hell is going on in there?" She thought, before her eyes caught the orange crates under a tree in the small garden area. The parachute was long gone however. It was some feet down too... she wondered how they could get over to the area without falling to their death or injury or having to take a two hour detour and walk the rail lines. "God I need real clothes..." she groaned.

Park Street Entrance/Clock Room Empty Re: Park Street Entrance/Clock Room

Post by Random NPCs Mon Feb 24, 2020 10:20 pm

There were a few zombies in the garden area, a couple of officers with massive bits of meat missing from their bodies. One lacked an arm as well... but luckily, one had a radio still in tact on their belt!

"Atten... all Racco....ty Citizens, eva...R.P.D. for shelter and aid! I re-PD! Any-Railyard....there for info....uation, I repeat..." a garbled, static intermittent recording went on loop, the radio causing the zombies to stick together, pawing the air... their movements like they were on patrol... though it was a short patrol grid as they circled a fountain in the garden, leaving the grass bare where they had been circling for hours... the long cord on the handset swung around the officer zombie's thigh as he continued to walk with his 'comrades' around the fountain...chasing a voice recording that wasn't tangible for their teeth nor clawing hands...

Park Street Entrance/Clock Room Empty Re: Park Street Entrance/Clock Room

Post by Edgar Holden Fri Nov 20, 2020 2:35 am

Edward gave a small salute as the ladder reached ground level, before he reached up and started climbing quickly. In only a few moments, he hoisted his large frame over the railing and crouched down to observe what Claire was.

"We can always return to the clothing store if you want." Ed offered with a smirk as he took in all the information he could from the view. It was dark out, night, so visibility was not the best, but his new eyesight proved to be able to pick out details he knew he would normally not be able to. For example, one thing struck him immediately - besides the fires, the city remained well illuminated despite the damage. That meant that the local power grid was still active despite this outbreak.

"The city's power generation remains active... Unusual, given the circumstances." he uttered.

"Town hall, Hospital... Both those places seem relatively intact. I can't get a real look at PD. Stadium seems to be burning..." he said, before he looked over towards the recycling plant, and the Arklay Mountain region beyond. "Small forest fire. from the Ranger Station I think... Thats a lot of smoke."

There was a loud crash from a window in the courtyard below, past the zombie cop with his active police radio Riley was looking for, and the weird case with its attached parachute which was not much further. The sounds of a desperate struggle emanating the courtyard from the Main Foyer:

The unspeakable monstrosity held the maid in her grasp, tendrils seemingly so thin but incredibly strong wrapped around her shoulders. Queenie lifted Reiko clean off the floor without so much as lean back to counterbalance the weight of the girl.
Still standing stock still she wrapped coil's around Reiko's neck, a malicious smile playing over her lips as she began to squeeze. Watching almost mesmerised as the woman struggled in her grip.
"You will be one of us, you will become us!" Queenie mocked
As the struggling maid opened her mouth to gasp a thick black tendril shot down her throat, this was purely and simply evil. The queen unit already had the maid. Her nanites had already begun to process the unfortunate woman. But she had been annoyed, TBQ would not be silent and this human had the audacity to attack her..... Not to mention temporarily disabling her canine unit.

The retriever padded over to it's mistress as Reiko continued her death throes, stopping to sit beside the Queen unit. Queenie looked down at the canine unit as it sat wagging its tail.
"Good dog" she smiled and patted it's head as a maid screamed and died.

Reiko tries her best to pull away, but in the end it is impossible. "Let go of me, bit-*Urrk*!" She blushed, feeling her neck gripped as she was raised off the marble floor! She felt her weight dangling, her blue eyes staring into her own...

Her declaration made her eyes widen, an unable to breathe and out of instinct lets out a scream that is muffled by the thick tendrils which traveled down her throat! "Urk..mmmmrph...urrrf......!" She closed her eyes, feeling the... thing crawling inside her, it was terrible! She couldn't do anything... she was hopeless now, and unable to defend herself against this creature she was going to be lain waste to it's dark agenda.

She kicked and struggled, her mind slowly going black as she tried her best to hold on, even when her body was already giving up the fight... her thoughts on wanting to live, to survive pushing into her brain... then, nothing.

...as if a switch had flipped, her eyes reopened, and she began to struggle again, her gloved hands gripping the large tentacle mass wriggling through her mouth! Not... yet.... can't give up... yet! She thought, her muffled screams returning as she put all she had left into one act of defiance! Her movements became so hastened as she kicked her legs that a mass of the tendrils flew behind her and crashed through one of the windows looking into the garden area with a loud smash! She didn't have much time left, but with this last desperate struggle she hoped she could yet make it out alive!

Park Street Entrance/Clock Room Empty Re: Park Street Entrance/Clock Room

Post by Carrie Taylor Tue Mar 16, 2021 11:32 pm

(Backlog):

She nodded. "We'd probably be able to see the station from the clocktower..."

Then the sounds of struggle came from every direction. Down in the Clocktower Ball room, then there was gunfire from the hospital and the parkinglot. She looked behind her and in the direction of the hospital, and suppressed her acknowledgement of whom she saw running around with the shotgun. Jack... what the hell are you doing in this area? Coming after me? I'm not a little girl, dammit!

She glanced back to Ed, knowing that Jack would be all right on his own for now she made a quick decision for them both: "Ed, idea. We help who ever is in need in the ball room below first, then, we'll make our way back to the hospital and clear out anyone still alive, maybe grab an ambulance and drive it to the Station if we can still use the roads." She explained.

Carrie then glanced down into the garden area where they saw the UMBRELLA container parachute into... she wondered if she should risk it, but given Edward's state, he may be able to make use of the cache left for the siblings... he wouldn't know what it meant, and its not like they'll be coming to a confrontation later down the road... Things can remain hidden for now...just don't get too attached Carrie. She told herself, mimicking her elder brothers... it was sick, but she understood the risks.

"Now... just need a way to drop down from here..." She says out loud, holding her chin, looking down at the courtyard... leaving herself open.

Edward didn't need to think twice about it, he scooped up Carrie into a bridal style carry using only his left hand to cradle her to his chest even as he jumped over the railing and swung his right hand out, using it togrup the wall, ripping the ancient stonework wall all the way down as rubble and broken pebbles. Eventually he was low enough to the ground where he kicked off the wall and landed in the courtyard, before he quickly put Carrie down safely, before spinning back, as he drew his S&W 629 .44 revolver, but before he fired, his eyes lit up once more, the red light was accentuated this time with small flares of embers along his skin, which audibly hissed at the air. His gun turned from chromed silver, to almost red hot.

Then he fired, and a streak of blazing orange erupted from the heated gun, as the bullet was pushed well into melting point, but strangely the gunpowder remained intact until fired like an ordinary bullet. The sound of the gunshot was more like a cannon rather than a pistol, as the bullet struck the writhing formless mass, the temperature driving the nanites away from the area of effect. Edward fired 3 more times at various parts around Reiko's body, driving the devouring swarm back further.

(OOC From here)

As soon as he felt the tug and the shouts on both ropes, Edward hauled them up as fast as he dared. "Hold tight!" he said as his arms pumped, dragging the ladies up at a fairly decent pace, pulling them out of the nanite creatures current reach, along with the rope, so it couldn't use it to follow them.

In a few moments they were at eye level with the large man, and he pulled them over the short railing to safety on the walkway. He turned and looked down at the nanite creature, as it's mass had fully healed from the wounds inflicted by the guns, and Reiko's hand. He quirked an eyebrow slightly at that, but given he was tempted to drive the creature off with another blast of flame, he could not consider her actions any stranger than his.

Edward then looked at Carrie and Reiko. "We need to keep moving. If we stay at any one spot too long, the chances increase of that thing finding a way to us. We should go collect Ms McLeed and make our way to RPD HQ as quickly as we can" he said as he turned towards the opposite side of the walkway, and walked to the fire escape ladder they had used to get here.

Soon, both women were flung up to Ed, his speed was incredible and it was as if it was automatic as he reeled them up to the rooftop! She had managed a few more potshots before the gun's slide slammed back dry, but by then they were up higher than it where she returned a glance back to Ed and smiled. "You're a sight for sore eyes, Ed!" Carrie playfully responded.

Setting back down on... stable perching, Carrie reloaded the M9, and tossed the empty mag into her dress. At Ed's mention of McLeed she nodded, but then added: "I don't think she'll come along, even with our story... but giving her the radio might let her trust us in the near future. There is also the struggles going on at the Hospital over there, we could make use of the ambulance since its built like a tank." She explained. "We can either go over to Ms. Gunshop together, or I can rush it over while you two secure a transport and see to whoever is still alive inside the building. I'm quick on my feet and have more ammo than Reiko, who still needs to open up to us. I mean we can go together, but I don't know if we have the time." She also explained.
