Park Street & Streets Bordering the Park

Gwen had to breath a sigh of relief as she was not pulled over by the cops on the outskirts. She continued on the road and found herself rolling beside a high wall that acted as some sort of barrier to keep people from wandering into Victory Park's ponds and gardens.

She could see the hospital as well as the back end of the Clock Tower... but there was something... odd with the streets. They were empty. And not only that, flashing red and blue lights were strobing on top of the nearby emergency vehicles but there were no rubber necks or onlookers. She looked around, gawking at the lack of... anything or anyone! Empty streets. Is my clock wrong? Is it actually midnight or something? She thought, slowing her vehicle to peer down the alleys and streets she wasn't on. She was also curious about those flashing lights...

A flash of movement golden and fast shot across the road just in front of her car, illuminated in an instance by the headlights then vanished into a dark alley. Whatever it was it seemed to come from the direction of the park.

I still haven't checked in to a Hotel... but its late, I'm supposed to be in the clock tower by 8pm... perhaps I can just spend the night with Sara... I suppose its better than checking in dressed like this, I'll just have to put up with her snuggling... Gwen brought her eyes back to the road ahead of her in time to see the flash of golden movement! "Shit!" She cursed, hitting the breaks hard! The blue Chevy Malibu jerked forward then settled back in the street, the loud squeal of the breaks ringing in the maid's ears... She held her chest, and sighed, glancing over to her left at the moving thing as it darted off into an alley. "Was that...? Where it come from..?" She turned her head, answering her own question as the entrance to the park was lit up and to her right.

Looking back to the alley way, the woman thought it was best to simply continue, but curiosity got the better of her as she went to park on the curb. Fuck it I'm late as it is, I need to see something, anything, anyone! She made up her mind as she put the vehicle into park, opening the door to the street. The air was muggy, and the streets were eerily silent... She looked around, and could swear she heard her own breath echoing. This is... inviting... She thought grimly, looking back into passenger seats behind her, one thick thigh on the street, her high heeled punkish boots grinding on the asphalt as she turned and pivoted, swinging her hanging, jiggly chest between the driver's and side passenger's seat. She reached for the baseball bat tucked against her duffel bag. I mean, I'm going to need this anyway... may as well take it along and kill two birds with one stone. Gwen put her mind at ease. If anyone asks, use your stage name Reiko, and play your part... She reminded herself, not that she needed to... her nerves were a bit jumpy given her eerie drive into bumpkinville. She pulled the wooden bat out and slid her curvy toosh out of her seat, and stands in the street. With a final bump with her butt, the door closed shut behind her, locked.

She approached the dark alley, slipping her car keys between her soft breasts, muffling their jingle and metallic clanks, as to not startle what she thought was perhaps a mutt. To her defense of her curiosity, Gwen/"Reiko" had a fondness for dogs, so she was hoping that it wasn't hurt or injured. Still, her bat making her imposing, she enters the dark alley after it. "Ugh..." She moaned, wrinkling her nose. Somebody left their garbage out... its fucking rotting... She mentally grumbled, not aware of several signs that she should not dwell in that alley... nor the city any longer.

The dog was sitting in the middle of the alley staring back towards her. It really seemed out of place, it's immaculate fur almost gleaming in the dark. The dog, a golden retriever, was obviously well fed and well looked after. It panted softly its tongue lolling from its mouth, giving it the appearance of laughter or at the very least genuine pleasure at seeing the maid. It stopped panting and cocked it's head to one side raising its ears as it's tail wagged.


"Woof?" it barked in an inquiring and none threatening tone.

The equally out of place maid cocked her head almost similarly, staring back at the furry creature. "Hey there," she sweetly called, her boots clacking as she stepped forwards. "What are you doing out here...? You lost?" She asked the dog. They were a pretty one, and from the look of things, it looked fine initially. As she got closer, she felt that something was a little off about it, but couldn't quite place it as she stares at its perfect and immaculate fur. Here they were, standing in a middle of an alley reeking of trash, and this dog didn't have a hair out of place. She began to pick up on that, when she realized that it just came out of the park, her blue eyes scanning behind her, towards the entrance to the greenery of the ponds and gardens before looking back. Its fur couldn't be pristine...

She hunkered down, studying the creature. "You got an owner girl?" She asked in a soothing sweet tone yet, balancing the baseball bat off her shoulder. Regardless of the condition of its fur, she was curious why it was sitting in the middle of the alley like this, was it waiting for her, leading her somewhere?

Queen Mod1.01's reconnaissance unit had made contact with a survivor, human, female, she appeared to be dressed as a maid according to Queenie's database.
Threat assessment...… The dog scanned Reiko detecting only a baseball bat... Threat: 0.0%

Make contact, establish rapport, seek further human contacts..... Delete the maid unit if it becomes hostile.

The retriever rose slowly and approached Reiko once more panting it's tongue lolling from it's mouth and it's tail wagging. As it got closer it whined, whimpering softly before sitting again and raising a paw, as though to shake hands.

The woman blushed, the dog was acting rather adorable. "Aww... can't just leave you here." she says as it raised its paw to shake with her. She couldn't deny it a good shake so she took her shiny latex glove clad hand and brought it to the dog's paw. "Might not be as comfortable, but nice to meet ya fuzz ball." She smirked, giving the paw a good shake. She didn't know what to do with the dog for the moment, she still had a job to do and she was sure the dog would not be allowed at this private party for this Police Chief. She looked behind her again towards the mouth of the alley. Perhaps I should leave her in the car...? Ugh... I don't like that idea... Her plush, glossy black lips turned into a slight frown. "Hmm... come along then, we'll figure something out." She says to the retriever, facing it again. She stood up and faced the street again. "Well, your the first living thing I've seen yet, just got into town and its deadsville." She says as she heads back to the street.

The dog trotted along behind her happily wagging it's tail as it followed her to her car.

Unable to contaminate maid.... Barrier detected: Identify?...…………….. Maid is coated in large areas with latex..... Nanite transfer impossible in these areas!

Confirmed and understood..... Maintain surveillance of the maid...……… Acquire additional targets as a priority!

She yanked out her car keys from her cleavage, when she thought she heard some shuffling. She turned her head to the sound of movement, and at the familiar shape of another human being. She sets her bat beside the vehicle to keep from startling them. "Hey!" She waved her hand to the shuffling man. Finally, a person! They'd probably be startled anyway given her attire. She turned to the dog with a smile, unlocking the door for the dog, and opened the back seat, before turning to the shuffling stranger who was closer now, but the hazy fog that rolled in the streets made it a bit hard to see. "Hey, where the hell's everyone in this dump? It's 8 O'clock on a Thursday..." She asked the shambling man, but he only seemed to...moan back in response? Either he was a drunk, or hurt... potentially both. "Hey... you all right?" She asked approaching the shuffling man... her eyes noticing as he got closer, the thicker that rank rotting garbage smell got.

The pale, almost blue mottled skin, red ripped and wet patches of blood and exposed flesh. And his eyes, white, milky and sightless.

The gruesome sight slowly shuffled towards Gwen and the dog, and as he got closer, his arms started raising his clasping hands towards her. "GRAAAAAH!!"

The maid took a step back out of surprise, dropping her keys onto the asphalt in the process! She thought that the person was wearing some sort of costume, flashy make up, but what made her feel uncertain was the fact it wasn't Halloween for another five weeks! Then there was the smell, the God awful stench which wafted off the man! Wet and rotting, the bloating figure came at her with out stretched hands, its white sightless eyes staring through her!

This guy can't be real... can't he? Is it some sort of elaborate prank? She had a shocked expression on her face, her eyes glancing over his ragged, bloody wounds and exposed bits of bluish tinted flesh. She backed up, furrowing her brow, evading the man creature by backing up. "Hey there, that's a bad idea buddy..." She began, her voice low and threatening. She was near the bat, and she absently reached behind herself for it, while this guy... this 'zombie' continued to shamble towards her! "Last warning!" She shouted, reaching blindly for her bat's grip!

She watched as blood, gore, chunks of rotting flesh exploded from the creature's head! Her eyes became wide, blinking with a confused expression as she was expecting to have simply knocked the person out... but she damn well took its head nearly clean off!

She held the bat now with both hands, staring down at the corpse that fell to the asphalt below her with a splat. Chunks of gore still clinging to the end of her bat...



"Shit, I....killed him." she gulped, noting the specks of blood on her 'uniform' as well. The smell got worse, and upon close inspection of the corpse... she realized something odd. "The blood is like jelly... wait, that can't be possible unless he was already dead..." She blinked at the thought, before more shuffling noises and low moans caught her ears. She glanced up, seeing more shuffling movement from the fog, closing in on her!

She looked back to the dog, and saw more coming from behind her! "Ah shit! There's more of them?! We need to get out of here pup!" Reiko grunts, also coming to the realization she dropped her keys! She had to choose a path quickly, run to the clock tower and hope there was a door unlocked or sprint through the park... these... shambling guys were cutting off her options thanks to their numbers, but she noticed that they moved rather slowly as well. Still, slow moving or not, they'd be on her like white on rice if she didn't get her ass in gear!

The dog had been barking and growling at the now dead zombie, but had gone silent save for some growling when Reiko dropped her keys.
Now it made a small clattering sound and yapped pleased with itself, as it dropped the car keys at Reiko's feet

Protect human.... Do not allow it to become contaminated.... its usefulness will diminish if turned.

The dog hopped into the back seat panting and yapping clearly very pleased with itself but also urging the maid to get in and leave the area.

She looked down at the keys, and back to the dog. Candidate for the worlds best good boy or girl right there! She thought, not putting too much thought though in how... convenient the situation was! She yanked up the keys, unlocked her driver's side door and tossed the bat into the seat beside her as she slid her curvy body back against the plush interior, slamming the door hard! "Ah kay ah kay... just gotta get us the hell out of here..." she mumbled, sliding the key into the ignition, the Chevy Malibu roaring to life in an instant- none of that horror movie stalling bull shit today!

She peels away from the corner, her right headlight smashing against the taillight of the taxi parked in front of her, not giving a single fuck about it as she swerves into the street! A few of the things in her view reached for her vehicle, clipping some; a lady nurse with a tattered uniform lost her arms as the vehicle literally clipped against the outstretched hands! The oily blood covered the windshield, which was smeared, and mostly wiped away with the wipers as she makes it a point to try and avoid the things. "We need to get out of here pup, these things are everywhere!" The escort wasn't going to risk life and limb for a couple grand, this was... something above her paygrade! Even though the thought of Sara being around didn't sit well with her gut... She was torn between a friendship and getting out with her life that while she was on Park Street, she had to think about her options more clearly...

The dog woofed happily in the back seat. Occasionally letting loose a loud growl when any undead strayed too close. The reconnaissance unit could certainly protect itself and it's current companion if the situation called for it. However that would give it away, and research had shown humans are far more likely to bond to something they feel they are protecting.

Better to play the part of a simple dog.....

Maintain contact with the maid..... Await contact with further humans.... then eliminate maid.... add her to our bio-mass, make her one of us!

"It's gonna be fine... we'll be fine." She says in a low tone, driving between and around the infected. She was pretty sure she was going to just abandon the city at this point when a zombie strayed directly into her path! "Shit!!" She screamed, slamming on the breaks, the zombie tumbling over the hood of the vehicle, cracking the windshield into a series of spiderwebs, making it almost impossible to see! "Hold on pup!!" She screamed, swerving the vehicle!

The queen unit picked up it's pace, most of the shambling dead stayed out of her way the few that got too close she shredded in an instance.
