Random NPCs wrote:Marvin snapped his head back towards Alison and he had a sad look on his face. "Look past it, Corporal." He tensely snapped. "I gave you an order, take these two with you to the lobby and secure the gates..." he says, gentler as he follows the stretcher and their fellow officers. He paused in mid stride however, and looked down. "As for who?" he turned his head, giving her an over the shoulder glance. "Ourselves. Now on the double, get up there and aid Westport and McInis. They'll explain the situation better than I can." He finished, before returning to his task, escorting the fallen comrades to the morgue.
Ali quieted, and listened with a look of confusion as Marvin beckoned her to bring the two upstairs. "...Very well, Sir." She answered respectfully, tension rising inside her. What did he mean by 'ourselves'? Was this a full scale riot? She didn't waste anymore time pondering it. "You heard the man, ladies." She says, holding the shotgun low, both hands, safety on as she turned to the pair. "Lieutenant Marvin says to look past this, so you're both lucky. Now don't make me regret this, and move. Take the stairwell on the left and I'll lead you both to the lobby." She orders. Even though Williams was an officer, apparently, she was still unsure how to trust her either. She didn't trust the Asian at all, other than her bold and resistant attitude, she looked like a cunning fox hiding something from her.

Cat smirked. "Down girl, don't get your panties in a twist, we're all on the same side." she hummed as she took point, and nudged Raeni along with her. She walked beside the quiet, rather shocked Officer who still cradled her 92F like a safety blanket while Ali tagged along behind them. "Now," she began, to try and start conversation. "Your superior said that the others up top would explain it to you, but how about I'll give ya the highlights- the city is in the middle of a riot, caused by people who seem to be sick. These sick people are attacking anyone they see with a pulse, and worse. You remember the Cannibal Murders from May? Its like that, but on a grand scale." she explained as they past a vending machine.

"Just shut your mouth," she replied, before tailing the pair out. When the Asian spoke up again, she grumbled. "I said shut up..." Still, the woman continued, bring up the old case which launched the STARS investigation, and that lead to no real leads and a mess of other problems. Still, though she didn't fully trust the woman, she didn't sound like she was making this shit up to rile her unlike her other comments. Even so, Ali found her patience had been lost and grabbed the woman by the shoulder and nudged her towards the vending machine. Ali looked her evenly in the eyes, the woman's glasses reflecting the soft blue glow of the machine and the florescent light over head. She gave her a momentary glance over... she looked normal enough, but had that fox like charm radiating from her that made Ali feel uneasy. She furrowed her brows, frowning. "Just...who the hell are you?" She found herself asking.

Cat hardly changed her demeanor as the officer pulled her over to the machine, her back against it. She smiled back in her charming, vulpine manner. Her lidded eyes focused on Ali's facial ticks, and she found herself amused by this woman's total mistrust in her. She was sure Alison Marks was a good person, a dedicated officer, but she was also naive. "My name's Cathy McDonell... and I'm the best chance you've got, Officer Marks... Your best chance at surviving whats to come if my theories are correct, that is." She says, cocking her head as she shrugged in a coy manner. She didn't flinch from Ali's antics, and she brushed side the cop and resumed her position besides Rae. She glanced back, her eyes lidded, her fox like smile almost snooty as she spoke up: "...to the left, you said, yes?"

She didn't want to come off as being ethnically ignorant, but she didn't expect such a... rich little white girl name coming from the Asian woman. She got over that rather quickly, as the woman's overwhelming confidence and sass got on her nerve again, and she found herself scowling. "...yes." She grunted, adjusting her hands on the shotgun as the woman's bratty face now burned to the back of her mind. She really didn't trust this woman now, yet couldn't help but play into her game. "Theories...? What are you talking about, you some sort of conspiracy nut?" She pressed as she prodded the women up a flight of stairs.

Re: Basement Parking & Garage
Cat put a little sassy sway in her wide hips as she ascended the steps, and as Ali, ever agitated began to prod her for information, chuckled in a low and patronizing tone. "I deal in facts, Ms. Marks, not idle fantasies. Facts are far more entertaining than any column in the National Enquirer. Facts sell in my line of business." she explained, keeping her information to herself.

"And what business is that?" Ali grunted. She didn't like this woman's tone nor the way she answered her. She was like a vixen in one of those cheesy spy flicks, and it pissed her off to no end.

She raised a brow, paused at the top of the stairs, and looked back down to the basement and the Officer's face again. "Wasn't it obvious? I'm a reporter. Tsk, you're not on the detective squad hopefully, Corporal? Deary me, no wonder those murders never got solved." she pouted, mockingly, shrugging before continuing. Her mannerisms likely enhancing Ali's anger.

Ali took offense to this, and brushed past Officer Williams to grab Cathy's shoulder, pulling her towards the Overnight Staff room hallways wall opposite of the windows, slamming Cat's back against the hardwood. "Firstly, fuck you." she spat. "We lost some damn good officers in those cases, we did the best we could. Now some outsider like you should shut the fuck up and show some respect for us officers trying to keep together what little peace we have left in this city!" She continued, before adding: "Besides, what kind of reporter packs heat anyway? It looks like one of ours, too, its got the RPD logo right on the grips!" She says looking at the holstered VP70.

Cat's eyes became lidded as the woman made her assault, and her cheeky grin remained. "-The kind who don't take kindly to having her face ripped off by a madman with blood dripping down their mouth. Now if you kindly remove your hands, and I'll tell ya a nice tid bit for free: sometimes, you need an outsider to wipe away the bullshit from your rose tinted glasses." her eyes darkened, making her face all the more fox like. "I figure someone like yourself would feel the same way; you're not a native either. I still smell the faint scent of maple syrup and Canadian bacon off your breath, oh 'soary', that's just your accent." She chuckled antagonistically, mocking the pronunciation. "Look, we can claw each other's eyes out later, right now, you have a job to do so be a good little Mounty and bring us to the main lobby, kay?" she hummed.

Re: Basement Parking & Garage
Alison got red in the face. "You fucking bitch..." she raised her fist, ready to punch the shit eating grin off her face when the sound of machinegun fire made her pause. She felt her heart beating faster, and she so wanted to pull the glasses off this mouthy bitch and smack her hard with them! But... she wasn't going to stoop to that level. No, she was better than this. She lowered her fist, and looked away, out the row of windows overlooking the RPD courtyard. "Fuck... your not worth my time. Move your fucking asses now before your sor-" she paused, and strained herself from screaming. She then pointed down the 'L' shaped hallway towards the detective offices, and Marvin's and Damian's office.

"If you lose your cool this easily with me, you won't last long I wager. How about channeling that anger to your task at hand?" though she did expect retaliation, Cathy again, didn't flinch. She was not intimidated in the slightest by Alison Marks, whose patience had worn thin thanks to her prodding. She almost laughed as the woman was in the process of saying the word 'sorry'. She settled on a playful giggle instead as the woman backed off without so much as a slap to her face.
"Well then, back to task~" She purred, walking ahead of the woman and following her direction.

Andre entered the garage and felt a familiar sense of dread wash over him again... aside from the bloody corpse of a zombie officer laying on the ground catching his attention, the sound of shutters malfunctioning in the rear parkinglot confirmed his suspicions. "Shit...!" He spat, flicking the safety off his MP5 and sprinted up the loading ramp towards the rear shutter, when he saw more of the shambling fucks again! "Sarge, contact! The parking garage is compromised!" He spat, shouldering the MP5 and fired bursts into the closest of the three shambling corpses.

Raechel's heels clicked on the asphalt as she climbed down the ramp with Phil in tow, and for the first time in several minutes, saw a couple of people doing the same. "Oh thank goodness, we're not the only ones legging it!" She called out, jokingly.
The three zombies drop with a wet splash... Andre would then notice a woman, her hands upon a man laying flat upon the ground. He was in a utility vest, blood was gushing through the woman's dress jacket she had pressed against the wound. "C'mon Phil! Not like this, you can't!" She shouted. It had happened in a quick blur, the officer she was approaching had turned and lunged for her, Phil pushed her aside and then the cop was biting his neck, and the next thing she saw was blood and she had sprung to action in spite of the danger. She tried to drag her coworker away but couldn't, her hands yanking her dress jacket off and pressing the cloth to his wound. Blood gushing over Rae's hands, she could only watch him die.
After the flinching gunshots, she turned to the officer with the machine gun- probably looking just as crazy as those... things that attacked Phil! "Please, sir, we need to save him he's my camera man!" She panted, returning her gaze to Phil. "Hold on Phil, Christ hold on!"

Andre beamed the light down upon the pair, easing his trigger finger. He approached and carefully swept his weapon looking for any more zombies, before standing over the pair. Shit... Andre could tell from a glance, this Phil wasn't going to make it...
He knelt beside her and pressed his gloved hands over the jacket, at least to look like he was doing something, but it was clear the man was going to die.

"Sarge!" He called out, upon hearing Ben's voice, turning to see the officer with his handgun at the ready. "Civies, one injured male. He's losing blood fast." He says, and his face would make it clear that they were dealing with a man who was about to die any second. He then turned to the man, and... noticed he was no longer breathing, couldn't feel a pulse on his neck, the blood stopped gushing through the woman's makeshift tourniquet. He visibly checked the man's pulse, but knew already from the look he was dead. "Sorry, mam. He's gone." Andre frowned, turning to the woman. She looked familiar, but couldn't think where... then noticed the TV Camera close by. News team?

Re: Basement Parking & Garage
As the officer who saved them took over, she watched Phil's life drain from his face...
"Dead." She said flatly as the man was about to tell her. "Damn it Phil..." she sighed, before remembering. "John, my tech guy, he's street level, your squad car bay!" she hastily began to scream, the panic of having left John to tend to the tech van while these... things were roaming about! They weren't normal... they weren't rioting assholes, they were sick with something... the man who ripped Phil's throat out with his teeth had little less than half his face intact! Something... very wrong was going on, and she didn't want John's death on her now literal bloody hands either! "We have to get him inside! Now!" She pleaded.
She noted the other cop now, whom this 'Tank' had called Sarge. "Sargent-" she looked at his nametag. "-Winters, Tank, I don't know what the fuck is going on in this city, but you both got to help me with John I beg you!"

Ben let out a sigh of relief upon seeing that Andre was okay "Good to see your still with us man" Ben then looked down to the woman ....

Ben turned away for a moment knowing full well that Phil wasn't gonna stay dead he helped the Woman up to her feet while guiding her away from phil's body " Honestly lady you wouldn't believe me if i told what was going on" he then lets go of Raechel and turns to Phil "it's probably best if you see for yourself" As Ben said this Phil's body began to twitch followed by a low groan Ben let out i sigh "I'm sorry but i have to do this" Ben Looks to Andre and gives a slight nod he then levels his gun to Phils head and pulls the trigger he then turns back to Andre and Raechel "As messed up as this sounds from what we've figured out those things out there appear to be...." Ben pauses again before saying the next words "Zombies..." Ben Looked to the shutter still malfunctioning "Okay sorry to rush this along but we better get John before the power goes completely".

Re: Basement Parking & Garage
She noticed Phil twitch. "Wait, he's still alive!-w-what are you doing?!" Rae asked, watching as the officer point his M9 towards Phil's head! "He's still alive, we can save-" she noted then Phil's eyes peeling open to reveal an unnatural white filmy look to them, his head snapping to her with a snarl-
-BANG!
She winced, and when she reopened her eyes, the officer's chest was in her view instead. She looked up to him and Tank, before she heard the phrase. "...Zombies. What? You fucking serious? Did- what, no but.." she began incoherently before snapping back. "Y-yeah, John. Zombies... God I can't tell if I'm in disbelief or not, it makes sense but aren't they, ya know... FUCKING FAKE?!" she spat, running her hands through her hair. "S-sorry. Calm down... okay... yeah, John. Lets get John before he becomes Frankenstein or Dracula shows up and sucks whats left of his blood since he was torn up by the God damn Wolfman!" She chuckled a little on the unhinged side.

"Actually, Frankenstein is the doctor, Prometheus is the monster commonly mistaken for Franken-" he began but the glares from both Ben and the woman made him pause. "Y'know, heh, what does it matter? Lets just grab your friend quick before we can't get back inside the usual way. I ain't goin' through that creepy ass maintenance shed again, no sir!" he says, turning to Ben. "I'll take point Big Ben." He switches his weapon off safety again and walked ahead of them.

Ben nods back to Andre "Roger that, i've got your back" Ben turns to Raechel "Stick close we'll look after you, and no matter what don't leave our sides it's gonna be absolute hell out there" Ben let out a sigh "Here we go again" then followed Andre up the ramp to what was quickly becoming hell on earth.

Re: Basement Parking & Garage
Kiko had shadowed Ben through the station using a flashlight she had scavenged from one of the emergency supply caches being yanked out from storage. With a solid white beam of light, she retraced her steps from earlier in the day into the underground parking ramp when the sound of gunfire from up above caused her to draw the Sheriff Deputy's Glock from her jacket! She kept low, and heard fast paced movement before popping her head out with the maglight, looking face to face with a guy who was bleeding out of his arm in the illumination of her beam! He looked sane however, so she thumbed the safety back on, lowered the light and approached the guy, stepping into view. "Hey-hey buddy, easy, I'm with the cops." She lied, sorta. She could see his distress and he was sweaty, but again, very much not cannibalistic. "Looks like one got ya pretty good," she says, pointing to the said arm as she stuffs the glock behind her waistband, feeling the cool slide rubbing against one of her ass cheeks under her leather clad derriere. "I'm Kiko, the only thing this station has for a doctor, mind if I treat you there, um?" She asked.
The man stood there frozen for a moment, before trying to relax. "John... Raechel is out there with the cops, she's insane she doesn't have a gun she's not a cop or soldier!" He began to rant, but Kiko took his arm and brought him over to one of the parked squad cars and cast the light over his wound. "Yeah, she's in good hands. That Benny there has a decent head on his shoulders, and a nice butt. He'd be cute if he returned my guns though." She chuckled, before glancing over the world's most basic tourniquet and shook her head. "Damn that will not do. Okay, gimme a sec." She says, setting the light down on the hood, and yanked out some med supplies she still had on her from her treatments to the other officers. "This will sting like a bitch, but we don't want to risk infection." She says, before spraying the disinfectant first aid spray across the man's arm! The man howled in pain, but couldn't yank back his arm as she held it down. "Yup yup, just suck it in." she says, mercilessly as she undoes the makeshift bandage and applies a proper wrapping of cotton and gauze before using the pins to seal the brown gossamer wrappings tight against the wound. "It probably will need stitches, I'm afraid, but I can't operate with my limited supplies and lighting." She explained. "Let's just wait here for a bit, then I'll lead you back to the others upstairs, okay?" Kiko suggested, while John hissed and silently agreed.
More gunfire echoed above... She glanced over to the ramp, hoping whatever was going on up there wasn't going to kill them...
The gunfire continued to get louder, and Kiko made a fateful decision. "John, I'm going to be right back, you stay here and keep pressure on the wound. I'm going to help our friends out, okay?" She didn't give him a chance to reply, simply ran towards the fire, and the dwindling light of day outside.

Cat returned to the garage, ahead of Ben Winters and gang, to check the area. She couldn't grab her keys from the second floor on this wing now, but they weren't going anywhere for the time being. She walked over to where the zombie officer Rae had shot, the man was still there, dead as before. She knelt down, and cannibalized his gear. A few handgun mags for the VP70, a second gun as well. She could see some use in the second gun, for either a backup in case, heaven forbid, she loses the Sargent's and succumb to the punishment promised to her by the hands of the fine, Lieutenant Damian Handy; whom she kept calling Damian's Fine to be playful with the young man. He looks to be my age, roughly. Same with Sgt. Winters. That Raymond Taylor though... he feels off. I sworn I've seen his face before... She thought, but shrugged it off. She could see a few of the SWAT Vans still in the garage, and wondered how the Lieutenant and Sargent's fared against the virus carriers with the limited supplies they had for now. Best help them get their friends out and get the power back on. If the power's on I can find Irons' files more easily as well... She thought to herself. She had to wonder why her employer gave her that gun too, if it was so important... it seemed like it was a way to purposefully blow her cover. She's not making too many friends, aside Damian's Fine and Ben.
She turned to the ramp, and began to head that direction after pocketing the new handgun.

Ray entered the room after his little pep talk with the writer and desk Sargent. He looked around, and within a moment, he cast his gaze upon the woman in the striped dress.
"So, you're the Annie Oakley eh? Shootin' from a high place, long distance with a simple blow back handgun is a feat to be sure. Granted, most blowbacks are inherently accurate by design... but are limited by the weight of their slide. That's why I prefer revolvers." He says as he approached the woman, drawing both weapons out in a showy flourish:
"Limited by six shots, one would say... but how many shots does it take to kill a man? One? Two? And together... I have 12. More than necessary to get the job done, and from a reasonable distance."
He let the pair of guns tilt back in his hands as he raised the weapons up, and spun them each into their respective holsters. He then held out his hand. "Warden Raymond Taylor," he introduced.
