Raccoon City Cinema

A large complex housing 8 theaters for movies, and one of three or so Movie Theatres in the City of Raccoon. It sits on the stretch of Ema Street, and is next door to the greasy spoon, Emmy's Diner.

September 24th, 1998

Around 8:00 PM

One of the perks for working in that humid ticket booth down below? Was that Shane Murphy had unlimited rooftop access of the two story building, so long as he didn't do anything stupid like, fall off, the owner didn't give a damn if he was up there, taking pictures of the city, gave him the key and everything!

He was looking about the area, taking snap shots of the sunset reflecting off St. Michael's Clocktower in the distance, the beautiful Arklay Mountain range... and then turned his viewfinder towards Emmy's Diner, where he heard some commotion in the alley between the two buildings. It was just that asshole cook taking out the trash... but at this angle, he could also see a very beautiful woman and that guy he'd seen around his neighborhood leaving in a white caddy. "Nice, nice." he says with a grin. He could see a rad motorcycle up front as well. He shrugged and continued taking pics of the view when he heard shouting down below in the alley.

Curious, he walked back to the alleyway side of the roof, nearly tripping on a baseball bat someone must have tossed up here, and then glanced down. He saw Paul again, fighting with Travis the dishwasher for Emmys, which wasn't a fair fight given Paul's size and reputation. Just you wait till the police look at this you prick... He thought to himself, snapping a shot- when he saw Travis bite a chunk out of Paul's hand! "What the fuck?!" He shouted, backing away! He blinked, adjusting his glasses. I didn't just see that, did I? He thought, when he heard screams from all over. He looked around, leaning off the edge of the roof, noting that people on the street were getting tackled and attacked by other people. "What the fuck is going on down there?! Seriously?"

He watched a woman get her throat torn out by a creep in uniform, a cop at that! "What the hell?!" He gasped, when he shuttered, hearing a gunshot and more screams coming from Emmys! He turned to that section of the roof, peering down, and saw a cop now struggling with Travis in the street, forcing him into his squad car... or, maybe he was simply trying to flee? Either way, he didn't drive off, and instead ran up the street, shooting at anyone who charged at him till he noticed he was tackled by someone between Ema and Park street.

One moment I'm taking pics, next... everyone's going crazy! He thought, before he heard more movement from Emmy's. He saw two people exit the restaurant, one was a tall biker, the other was that hot goth girl from the Campus:



He believed she called her self... Sapphire? Emerald? Some precious stone, but he watched the Biker protect her from one of the deranged people on the street, shooting his gun at it. Damn, knew she had a boyfriend. But shit, gonna escape on bike? Hope you both get out of her safely... He thought, adjusting his glasses again when he saw the man he shot... get back up! That can't be possible, he shot him in the heart! He told himself, watching now as the biker was on the ropes and the Goth was now desperately looking for something to aid her boyfriend. "Shit, shit...!" He panicked, looking around for something? A brick? Anything! He almost tripped on it again, when he mentally slapped himself for being slow, grabbing the bat before tossing it down into the street below!

Shane watched as the woman saw the bat, and managed to peel the bastard off her boyfriend... and brutally finish it off! "Yeah, get'em!" He softly cheered her on!

As she looked up, he got a moment of stage fright and backed up, stepping out of view and out of sight! He looked skyward, the sky turning dark overhead as the light began to fade- evening slowly turning to night with the sky's color's changing from an orange to a purple-blue hue... He smiled though, happy to have helped them both.

Shane could see the bike ride off now, watching them fly past the police man that was being ganged up on by several of those freaks down there. He watched them turn left onto Park, and that was that...

He sighed, and now looked down at the street with its wandering, shambling figures, and those who seemingly haven't turned into bullet sponges. Even now, the one that hottie smashed was getting back to its feet again below him! He was staring at zombies from the Chiller Thriller B-Movies, but in real life. It was fucked, impossible- yet here they were! People who had their head smashed, a bullet to their heart, their throat slashed, it didn't matter. They were still walking, grabbing hold of someone and chomping down like its an all you can eat buffet. He'd rather wish that Vicki, the Lake Victoria Sea monster was real over... this!

"Shit... how the hell am I supposed to get out of here now?" He sighed, realizing he gave his best potential weapon to the pretty goth chick from school, whom he'd seen but not talked with, wanted to but didn't. "Ughhh fuck, okay... okay stay positive, I can think of a way out of this. So long as I'm safe up here." He says to himself, recalling how they couldn't seem to operate doors, nor seem to remember how to upon... turning into whatever they are. "They're kinda slow too... could outrun them? Could head to my apartment... but that's also four or five blocks away from here... shit." He grumbled, cleaning his glasses as he now paces the rooftop, figuring out his next move...
