Rafe's response did piss Brian off. However, another one of those walking dead fucks came into view, allowing the Chief to let loose his anger upon it with a well placed .50 AE shell to its face as it got close to Rafe. The booming sound would have pounded his ears, as it would have with all of them. "Jesus, they're in here too. Hurry, we can take the elevator here."

The chief headed over to the elevator and clicked on the button to call for it. "This'll be a breeze." He says, trying to assure the family.

Rafe winced, the sound of explosions didn't startle him as the Chief would have expected. He was a former Irish Ranger after all, in charge of demolitions no less, so such things wouldn't work on him. Besides, there was enough of a commotion going on that he was used to the loud noises at this point. When the Chief ran for the lift, he grimaced. "Oi! Not the lift, Boyo!" he ran passed the Mayor, heading over to the stairwell instead. "The stairs is the better bet, we won't get trapped if those things try to worm their way in down stairs! We have the ability to retreat if we take them!"

Raymond got between them before they would start the theatrics. "Children, CHILDREN! For the love of God, please, shut the hell up!" He says, raising his hands up as he stood between them. He stares at Brian. "Look, the kid's right, there is no way the six of us are pilin' into a damn lift with your fat ass! If they're crawlin' all ovah the lobby, we're sittin' ducks!" he bellowed, before heading over to Rafe. Without Brian's notice, but in full view of Rafe, Raymond smirked back, showing his mutual hate for the Chief. "Besides, you can use a little exercise Chief." He says with a slight chuckle, tossing off his overcoat, unbuttoning his suit jacket underneath. A Ruger .45 SAA was jutting from the right armpit under his open blazer. His black silk vest had an umbrella pin on the corner left breast as well. His belt doubled as a bandolier, with numerous .45 ACP casings filling the gaps in an almost ornamental fashion. Those who knew Raymond in the city, or through the prison system took him as an... odd eccentric of the wild west era, while those in Umbrella or the US Government likened him to a certain member of the Army's Special Ops Unit, FOXHOUND... but he hated that three faced bastard as much as he had another brilliant mind in the Corporation himself... but Raymond was confident in his craft, and despite the giggles and glares, when it came to using the pair of cowboy pistols he kept on him, his skill was no joke.

He gently opens the door to the stairwell, and sweeps the room with the SAA. "Look's clear for now, we need to move. I hear gunshots further down." He says, keeping the door propped open with a nearby garbage can.

The mayor and his family glanced between the three of them, before they followed Rafe and Ray's example. The Chief's eyes bulged practically out of his head as the pair belittled him in front of Katherine! These fucking bastard's will pay... He thought, before grumbling and followed reluctantly after them.

Ding~

"Uhnn....uhhn....uhnnnn..."

The elevator's doors opened... revealing blood splattered walls, and worse... a full occupancy of infected humans! The zombies moaned, rushing out of the lift, arms stretched out for the Chief of Police! Snarling and screaming for blood, the cannibals grabbed at Irons, who screamed, pushing them off, firing a few rounds of his desert eagle wildly at them!

He manages, however, to stumble out of their grasp and push himself through the stairwell! "FUCKING CHRIST!" He screamed, charging down the steps fast, his heart racing, blood splatter on his chest, and arms, stains from fingers that clawed onto him as he felt that cold clammy skin brush against his burly, hairy arms!

Rafe's thoughts on the Warden eased up a little, seeing that there was clearly a mutual bond they had in terms of messing with the Chief. Then... the sounds of his magnum, the cannibals that burst through the lift's doors! Rafe paled, his hairs standing on end as he watched a wave of fresh corpses begin to make chase after them! He pressed against the door as Brian pushed past him, Ray, and the mayors family! "Talk about lightin' a fire under his arse!" Rafe exclaimed as he followed suit, rushing the Mayor's family ahead of him, pushing them on ahead, glancing back to the top of the stairwell to Ray now and then to see if he was okay!

The new arrivals put Raymond in a spot. "Aw, shiiit!" He spat, drawing his ruger out with his free hand, raising both single actions at the approaching wave as that fatassed prick fled ahead of everyone! "Go! I'll find anotha way around!" He spat between booming shots coming from each of his revolvers! "Get them outside, Kid!" He urged Rafe, glancing back at the man with a gentle nod, before he stepped back into the corridor to buy them time!

BANG-BANG-BANG-BANG-BANG....

The booming shots echoed above them, the further they fled downwards...

The zombies gave chase after Raymond, his rapid fire of bullets allowed him to dwindle the ranks of the approaching undead, however, many were still able to push through the stairwell and give chase to the other survivors who fled in his diversion!

Rafe looked back, hearing Ray's plea before it was drowned out in a mix of gunfire and moans! He stayed behind a moment or so, before the zombies began to fill into the stairwell and give chase! "Fuck!!" Rafe screamed, turning tail and heading down after the family again.
