Yoko used the guard's keys to try some of the locked doors in the basement corridor, and stumbled upon a door she used to see all the time whilst traversing the halls. A mix of curiosity and her goal of looking for useful tools and weapons to defend herself against the zombies, Yoko tried all the keys till one fit.

The door latch gave, and the Japanese student pushed the door open, and felt the wall for a switch. When the lights flickered on, she found herself in some large, storage room. Shelves littered with large bottles, glass and plastic, some labeled, others not... she noted some of them as Hydrochloric Acid, stored in protective plastic bins- that stuff would eat you if exposed to it long enough.

Then... she came across a door reading: "B2"

B2...? The University has a second basement?! It was news to Yoko, as there were no indications on the campus maps of a second basement floor. As she approached, she noted the door was flanked with large glass containers containing some sort of specimen... like a humanoid, mutant frog?



The things barely came up to her knees... and she tapped the glass, noting they were filled with formalin... some sort of preserving fluid. "(Thank goodness they're just fetuses... but what kind of fetuses...?)" she asked herself in her native tongue, before trying the door to B2. Locked, of course, and now, she realized, it had a more high-tech lock. A card key reader was hidden behind one of the tall containers containing the still born creatures, and she sighed. Not getting down there any time soon... She thought, and turned her back on the door, the odd specimens, and began tearing apart the room for anything else of use, not noting the single, larger tank as she was rummaging through the shelves...

Jack tried the door, breathing a short sigh of relief to feel the lock give, and quickly pushed himself through the door, turning swiftly around and closing it behind him. He felt beads of sweat, mostly from his shot nerves, as he stood there with ragged breath. "Hah... hah... too close." he sighed, and looked around for something to block the door. He found a large drum and dragged it slowly over to the door, causing a loud screech as he did before he stopped what he was doing, not wanting to alert the snake! "Fuck... that door, nor that barrel's gonna hold..." he sighed, backing up, arms reaching back for the shelves to catch himself as he did. He felt sweat drip off his parted bangs, rolling down the side of his nose and down his cheek. He checked his rifle's magazine, he fired roughly five or six bullets? He didn't have time to properly guestimate, and his eyes were too blurry with beaded sweat to actually read the witness holes. "Fuck," he sighed, wiping his eyes with the back of his wrist, and he rocked the magazine and then tapped it back into the well of the rifle. He prepared himself, gently raising the rifle in a lazy, hip firing position to keep his arms as far back away from the door as he could in case the snake's head bursts through it and the barrel he slid part way in front of the door...

"Ahem..." coughed Yoko, who turned around, with the flame spray in her hand aimed at the young man who stormed inside. She could see he was sweating profusely, and that he had a big gun in his hand, a rifle at that. Army? She thought, but second guessed that, as he had styled, long hair and didn't look as standardized as they should have looked. She assumed then, he was just a young man, a survivor like herself, but far more prepared and lucky than she had been when everything went down. She lowered the makeshift flamethrower and felt her heart rate rise. Why does he look so frightened with such a big rifle... why was he sweaty? Those zombies out there are slow and easy to avoid... why did he have to run? She gulped at this thought and then spoke up. "Hello..." she sheepishly began, a slight Japanese accent to her words. "What... are you running from?" She asked, making effort to speak a little more clearly, but keeping her voice low enough to keep from potentially luring whatever he was hiding from to them!

Jack heard the small voice to his right, and jerked his head to the right. Standing not too far away from him was a young, Asian woman. She was holding up an aerosol can with a lighter duct taped to it, a makeshift flame thrower if he ever seen one:



Clever... He thought, blinking at the woman whom he wasn't sure was going to activate makeshift weapon or not. When she finally lowered it, he breathed a tiny sigh of relief. He relaxed a little, lowering his rifle just slightly, it was still being pointed at the door after all. "Hi..." he replied awkwardly back, when his head turned to the door and the hall behind the doorframe... he could hear the creature slithering about. "Shit... its coming..." he cursed, raising the rifle again... then lowered it, turning his head to her again. "...I pissed off a big ass snake." he replied, looking back to the door then back to her. "Is there any other door in this room?" He asked gulping back anxiety.

Yoko blinked at that. "(Snake...? A big snake...?)" She remarked in her native Japanese, muttering under her breath, feeling cold sweat roll down the side of her neck. She wasn't aware just how dangerous it was beyond the threshold of the campus, aside from the zombies. Giant snakes...? What else could there be then? She didn't want to find out. If it wasn't for the hissing in the distance and she hadn't heard the sound of something large slithering about outside the room, she wouldn't know if she could fully believe the young white guy in the military pants. He asked her then, if there was another doorway. "No..." she started, but then thought of the door in the back, the one the keys wouldn't unlock. "Wait, that is not true-" she corrected herself, blinking her narrow eyes. "-there's a door, but... I couldn't unlock it. It has a hidden card reader over here though, so... I am afraid it cannot be operable..." she gulped, pointing over to the door in question from where she stood.

He blinked at her words. Japanese? Yeah, its got to be. He thought absently, having spent enough time with Rin Kendo and her family to know the difference with a few key words. He disregarded that for the moment however, and listened as she spoke in English about a second door in the back, one requiring a card key. "Hidden?" He pressed, and turned his attention to where she pointed. He lowered his gun entirely, slinging the strap over his right shoulder, holding the weapon's grip loosely with his finger off the trigger as he walked briskly over to where she had pointed. He couldn't help but notice in passing that the young woman was shorter than him,  and if not for some subtle and more obvious traits, would have accidentally called her a child! That was a mistake he was glad he didn't make in conversation, his mind switching back to the task at hand. He noted the odd jarred creatures swimming in some sort of fluid, embalming fluid? Formalin he believed it was called? Dammit, I need to take my meds again? Mind's drifting, gotta focus on the task at hand, dammit! He mentally chastised himself as he approached the door, and noticed it had an odd handle that was more like a lever built into a recess in the door itself. He slid the strap of his rifle around his neck to free up his other hand, trying the handle and sliding sideways. "The door must have some emergency way of opening in the event of power failure, I have a sinking feeling this thing is supposed to slide into the wall when you use a card." Jack divulged to the woman. "Either way, we need to keep quiet or keep moving or we're snack chow, snake chow." he corrected himself, shaking his sweaty head, pushing his bangs away from his dark blue eyes. He looked over to the card key reader and grimaced, before trying the door again. "C'mon...!" he groaned, trying the door aggressively. "Open...damn you...!" He did not want to be eaten by a giant fucking cobra!

Yoko frowned as her 'new acquaintance' tried to pry the electronic lock open. She shook her head, hands on her hips. "That... won't work. You will only hurt yourself! Stop trying tha-" she started, frustrated as she was turning to check the door due to the slithering of the 'snake' drawing closer- when she heard a loud 'beep' that was similar to confirmation beeps you'd hear on any computer system. She snapped her head back to the card reader, and noticed it lit up green with 'ACCESS' in digital font across it- then watched as the young man stumbled into a dark room, the sound of running water, pipes entering the room as the rusty metal walkway he tumbled onto groaned and shook! She was surprised as is that the door opened in the first place, sliding into the wall like he had surmised; but then she was surprised, that he was about to fall over a railing! "(Oh shit!)" she spat, rushing into the new room after him! She grabbed hold of his hoodie and shoulder pulling him away from the rickety railing before he could tumble over it! "Woah, (holy shit), got you..." she gasped, taking a step back herself. The new area... was beyond... normal! "What the hell is this place...?" Yoko asked, blinking rapidly as she looked around the spaciously cavernous room!
