History:
Sofia Eva Rosarita Maya Mercedes Juanita Valencia is a woman with many names but even more talents. She was born from a Nicaraguan Drug Lord and an enslaved Japanese woman, or so she was told by her ‘benefactors’ who raised her after being told to dispose of her. Her early childhood is blurry, she recalls these adoptive parents loving her to some degree, as they saved her from her real father- but during the turmoil of the 70s, at a very young age she lost her adoptive parents to the sweeping rebel movement. She was barely old enough to properly walk when she was conscripted by the Nicaraguan Rebel movement. Her comfort came from a rifle instead of a plush animal in her bed, and grew up feeling little remorse for killing people. As she got older and with the fall of the Samoza government, she was traded to the Colombians to aid the FARC with their schemes. Overtime, she grew impatient with the rebels, and fell in with Xavier Hidalgo, the leader of a group of gangsters who were more like mercenaries. She was useful to him, providing her irregular military and combat experience to his ‘Sacred Snakes’.
With Hidalgo, Sofia became an assassin for hire, then a full time assassin working closely with Hidalgo's ally, Ernesto Salazar.
Sofia Valencia is also known as 'Chacal Loca', the Mad Jackal, due to her almost supernatural fighting abilities and savagery. She was operated on by some Umbrella scientists at one point by Hidalgo's suggestion. The resulting operation had made her stronger, faster, deadlier. She seemingly can ‘smell blood’ like a shark or wild beast, and her aforementioned strength seemingly makes her capable of almost impossible feats such as breaking a steel blade with her teeth and crushing a man’s skull with her fists alone. She also has a very high pain threshold, if she even feels pain at all, and can bounce back from severe injuries with amazing speed. On the topic of speed, she is also incredibly fast and agile.
In spite of her monstrous capabilities, she is protective of children and will not tolerate their mistreatment even by her own people. She is also not fond of most Gringos, finding the new arrivals to Paraiso quite infuriating, especially Mario DeLuka who seems to compete with her since the moment they crossed paths but it is not for this singular reason alone as he is a man who has killed many of her compatriots since ‘93 sent up ‘North’ to deal with the trade in Illinois prior to the Raccoon City Outbreak.
During the May Islas Del Tortuga Disturbance in 1999, she attended a meeting between Ernesto Salazar, Xavier Hidalgo, Rufus Harris Jr. and Mario DeLuka to discuss future business and protection for the pair of fleeing Americans. She dislikes them instantly, their history aside, but begrudgingly follows her orders to work with the Americans while they are present in the island chain. She does not trust them one bit, and following a torrential storm is forced to work alongside them during an unprecedented outbreak upon the archipelago’s shores…
