History: Mario Fergus DeLuka, is the son of an Italian father and an Irish mother. An explosive combination at the best of times. He grew up in the shadow of his father, a retired military man turned sheriff, a rough man with a code of honor and a strict sense of right and wrong.
Mario dropped out of school shortly after turning 15 years of age. At which time he ran away from home and joined the Army. But it was not out of a patriotic sense of duty, or even from the strict upbringing by his father, rather because he was bored with life in general. School held no challenge for him, and hadn't for a number of years, before he finally just gave up on the institution of book learning and schools. That is not to say he was inferior intellectually, to the contrary he was a highly intelligent child, almost a prodigy as some would describe him.
1987 Joins the US Army at the age of 15 lying about his age is sworn in as a Specialist due to his high intelligence and physical capabilities
So when he turned to the military lying about his age, the 6'2" 15 year old was smart enough to pass all their bench mark testing without any real effort, both written and physical test. Earning for himself the rank of Specialist going into his boot camp.
1988 After numerous battlefield promotion during multiple conflicts he is raised in rank to Sergeant from acting Sergeant
1990 post G0 incident Redacted is made Staff Sergeant
Mario is placed on inactive duty for a time. He relocates to Racoon city, where he gets bored quickly in his quasi-civilian life. One day coming into contact with the lowlifes of Racoon city. In a moment of boredom and clarity he makes a reckless decision to not turn in the lowlifes instead he makes a play on the local underworld.
A special military unit comes calling on him during his inactive duty and he is reinstated to special services. Just as often being back home in Racoon City as not, between assignments.
1998 Assigned to inactive duty before being honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant First Class after a decade of loyal service. The bulk of his military career has been classified.
After being placed on inactive duty Mario returned home to his thriving drug business full time and his "senior partner".
Misc.-
Mario is a laid back kind of guy... ahem when he's off the clock. But when he's on the clock doing business related thing. He is a no non-sense kind of guy. He'd shoot you just as soon as waste his time and yours explaining the finer points of the business and why it's necessary to stretch your neck as a statement. In short Mario is ruthless, and brutally efficient, some might even describe him as cut-throat or sociopathic ... and they would be right.
He has a reputation in certain circles, business related circles, which precedes him, but most people just see him as a local nobody, who may or may not by intoxicated all the time. To the average Racoon City citizen, Mario is just one of those local boys who wasted his life, and has no prospects.
