History:

Lieutenant Damian Handy of the R.P.D. and R.P.D. SWAT. A native of New York state, he is the son of John ‘Jack’ McCormac of Ireland and Laura Handy of New York. His father was a member of the SAS, and was injured in the 80’s which left him wheelchair bound. His father raised him to follow him in his footsteps, attending a prominent military school then eventually Air Force ROTC. Once graduating, Damian enrolled into the New York City Police Academy, where he graduated with high marks at a very young age. He was given a job in New York City, but was quickly transferred out for an unknown reason. In 1994 he was transferred to Chicago, but the police department sent him further down south to Raccoon City who was in need of police officers.


The move is less welcoming than he expected, so he gets an apartment in Downtown Raccoon City, and begins flying lessons to make himself useful to the R.P.D.. He becomes a member of the NRA and gets gunsmithing lessons at the meet ups at Gunshop Kendo where he meets Barry Burton, Robert and Joseph Kendo. He strikes up a friendship with them and things begin to look up a little.

August 30th, 1995, Dante Carleson, Levi Thomas, John Markowitz, and Benji Seymour attempted to rob a popular art museum in Raccoon City, having killed two of the security guards. Damian, who was on his way back to his apartment noticed the thugs enter and called for backup. He subdues Benji and kills Levi, but is injured by John. He manages in his injured state to subdue and arrest Dante Carleson till backup police officers arrived. Damian is hospitalized for a week, his resilience keeping him from lying still. He is no longer on desk duty, and is promoted to patrol.

In April of 1996, Albert Wesker forms the S.T.A.R.S. in Raccoon City, to help the city with their growing increase in crime. Wanting to prove himself, Damian applies, but is denied. He would go on in the following years to break Officer Kevin Ryman’s record of being rejected by the S.T.A.R.S., becoming somewhat of a precinct joke among his comrades. He does however, become a fully certified pilot for the R.P.D. and works as a liaison between the R.P.D. and S.T.A.R.S. in a few exercises.

He goes on to show good merit, excellent casework and is told by Barry Burton that there would be no doubt he’d at least be joining Bravo team, before Captain Wesker personally turns his application down, and is promoted to Sargent.  Angered however, Damian confronts Captain Wesker himself in July of 1998 and goes into detail of how qualified he is for the S.T.A.R.S..  Wesker however manages to change the mood and Damian becomes compliant about his rejections. Wesker offers to make him an ‘honorary member’ and to get in touch with an ‘old friend’ to get him into FOXHOUND, but Damian says to give him some time to think about it, at least till the Arklay Murders investigation is cleared, feeling protective of the city which has been losing it’s sleep as of late. He begins to have a deep respect for the Captain after this confrontation.

In August, after the Mansion Incident that caused the death of nearly all of the S.T.A.R.S. team, including Captain Wesker, Damian decides to personally shadow Chris, to make sure he doesn’t get in too much trouble before his suspension, but fails to prevent him from assaulting one of their fellow officers. He asks Barry again of what happened in Arklay, to Wesker and the others but he doesn’t say much about the incident, saying that it was a clusterfuck and that he wouldn’t believe him if he told him everything from start to finish.
Chief Irons implements the ‘RPD select police force’ otherwise known as the Raccoon S.W.A.T. in response to the loss of life and disbandment of the S.T.A.R.S. team. Due to Damian’s expertise, background, and skill, he is promoted to Lieutenant and is the secondary division commander of the unit. He works alongside former NYPD S.W.A.T. Officer Joseph ‘Joe’ Cahill who oversees the unit itself as Captain and the Division’s Leader. Damian is somewhat suspicious of his hasty promotion, having lost some faith in the RPD force he had grown to love over the years, especially after the loss of life over many of their comrades in late July and suspension of the S.T.A.R.S..

Nearly a month has passed since, and Damian is still moving out of his apartment in downtown, looking forward to moving into his quaint home in Huntington Acres, where most of his hunting gear and possessions are located, including his Long Barrel Desert Eagle. The city is still in turmoil as the murders continue, and Damian hopes that the R.P.D. will be able to put the case to rest soon.

-Sharpshooter: He is a trained marksman and competitive shooter, leading him to be very accurate with all sorts of weaponry.
-Military Training: He has some military experience from his ROTC days and from the SWAT training he endured. He knows how to handle police and military equipment.
