Background & Other Details:
A carbine variant of the M16A2 further modified for government use by entities such as US NAVY SEALS and the US Army's 75th Ranger Battalion. It was used primarily by such entities from the late 80s to the late 90s, till the adoption of the M4A1, and is also seen as a precursor to the M4 Rifle. As such, its magazines are interchangeable with M16's, M4's and AR-15 frames. Its primarily found in the hands off of select National Guard soldiers, members of the 75th Army Rangers, and Umbrella's U.B.C.S. mercenaries. The Standard Model is also in limited use by the R.P.D.'s SWAT teams as well.
