A series of service corridors behind the scenes that connect to all the shops on the first floor of the mall, save Kendo's Gunshop. The first floor also houses the Janitorial Staff Room, and Service Elevators that allow the staff to quickly move between the four floors of the mall.

The twenty-one year old never thought she'd be well past closing hours at the mall, but here she was, looking over that stretch of parking lot space that were once suburban homes and the Elementary School she and Saoirse O'Neil went to in the 80's. There were only a handful of cars currently occupying the mostly vacant lot, but she had her eyes set on the flashing red and blue lights of the SWAT van which had been left abandoned towards the entrance to the parking lot. It was at least two football fields away from the Mall's Entrance, which wasn't so bad before the living dead started showing up!

"Eh, there's not too many of those things out there!"

Jun wasn't the only one here, thankfully. Tommy Wilkins, a manager of the Pizza Hot within the building was beside her. He was twenty seven, pretty average and forgettable looking to be honest. Her own manager, Steve-O-Reno, was currently laying face down in Entrance Plaza when shit got real. Ironically, he forced her to wear one of their shop's hoodies as he was being told that the Mall Managers were getting tired of Jun's 'general lack of attire', concerning her curvaceous body was barely hidden by a shiny white micro-tube-top and very low leg ripped jeans, and the straps of her black G-string hugging her hips tightly.

"Maybe, but it doesn't take many to gang up on you. You seen what they did to Steve-O, right?" Jun replied, flashing her amber orbs Tommy's direction.

To be fair the woman was not wrong about the number of zombies...

Twenty two shambling creatures wandered the mostly vacant lot, with a greater number of them gathered around the entrance doorways, pounding on what remained of the thick glass and the steel security shutters. The mindless, bloodied creatures who could sense the survivors within moaned hungrily and consistently pounded on the shutters with heavy metal clanks...

"See there? There's more out there than just the stragglers wandering the lot, dude." She explained folding her arms across the stuffy Hot Topic T-Shirt she was wearing under her vest. Her amber gaze glanced back to the parking lot. "...although, if we were able to distract them long enough, one of us could definitely make a break to that SWAT truck and see if it has anything of use. Hell the vehicle itself is useful on its own if we can back it into the mall's service entrance, but we'd need help from the few others here with us to get the shutters up, the car backed in, and defend it from those fucking cannibals getting inside. Kendo's Gunshop here is locked tighter than a Nun though, so besides Eddy with his handgun we're kinda screwed defensively speaking till we can get into that place." She explained, leaning against an industrial sized AC unit. 'Eddy' was Edward 'Eddy' Thompson, a security guard for Scutum Security Firm and he was armed with a M92FS handgun:

He was the only security guard on duty when shit went down. Well, that wasn't entirely true... as Wilson something another, was out front with the other zombies banging on the doors, his Beretta still in his holster yet. He rose up not too long after Steve-O was ripped to shreds by a couple of the freaks, so everyone here knew that it was contagious.  Aside from Tommy, Eddy, and herself...

...there were eighteen other survivors taking shelter inside. All workers here, sadly enough. They all wanted to go home, but opted to stay given the current state of the world right now and who could blame them? Jun was worried sick about Saoirse... and knew that her former fuck buddy Mario was alive out there, given he had some serious hardware... like fucking machine guns and shit! However, she also felt mixed about that man...
On one hand, he was one of her most stable relationships...? Eh, that word didn't rightly justify what they had. It was like a dependency... for a time, she needed Mario DeLuka, but like any drug she was overdosing herself on him. If she still stayed with him she wasn't sure if she'd even be alive right now. Jun shook the thoughts from her head in a literal shaking of her head from side to side, as if she was disagreeing with someone in her mind.

"You know... that doesn't sound like a bad idea, Jun." Tommy replied, his eyes focused on the flashing lights of the SWAT Van. "We really could use those supplies, and like you said... the van itself is its own reward. Its a tank, and we could use it to get to a safer location if things get worse! And it'll have a CB Radio so we can be able to talk directly with the police station assuming they're still there." He replied, looking pretty hopeful.

She looked at him then closed her eyes as she rubbed her neck. "I suppose we could talk this suicidal idea over with the others..." Jun sighed, as she began heading back downstairs.

There were a number of Mall Janitors who showed up to start their shifts as the place was closing early due to the riot at the stadium. Tommy was waiting for one of his delivery gals, Jessie Xiao to return from a delivery up by the Campus, and tried to report her to the police given she was way overdue to return and felt worried about her safety before shit went down. She knew TJ and Darius from the University plus they were in her circle of friends which included Saoirse O'Neil, Tyrone King and Amy Donnel to name a few. Carlos was working on rewiring one of the stores lights as he was an electrician when everything shit the bed, a nice guy overall. She didn't know too much about the others, but that kid from the Umbrella Sales office, Ricardo? Had a creepy air about him and it didn't just come from his one lazy eye and his weird almost laughable Brooklyn accent. He seemed very fishy, in spite his age.

Overall though, she thought her group made a decent team in at least securing the building, and it was at least great that they had people who had keys for most of the building and knew their way around the place. After Steve was eaten alive along with a handful of others, they barricaded the doors and began pulling down security shutters to places of high risk. They had tried to hunt down the only gun shop in the store's keys in the Mall's Administration Offices where the spare keys are kept, as the Janitors were exclusively not allowed to clean that store due to security reasons and a contract between the Mall's Management and the Kendo brothers and it was part of employee regulations to clean up the shop before locking it down. Oddly, said spare keys were missing conveniently from the key box, so they had to make do with some sporting equipment and whatever they could cobble together from the store. They had access to bb guns, which did nothing but piss the zombies off even as they burst opened eyes with a few of the pellet guns, but Carlos had an idea for the BBs and Pellets themselves: making shrapnel bombs. They didn't have access to conventional guns, but the sporting goods store did have some flare guns and flares, which meant gunpowder. They weren't going to arm themselves with incendiary or explosive ammunition though, not yet anyway, given they did not wish to burn their sanctuary down and everyone in the mall wasn't sure how the flares would handle on the zombies. For all they knew, like the bbs and pellets, they'd just shrug it off and would pursue the survivors whilst ignited...

Jun took the lift down with Tommy to the ground floor Maintenance corridor wing, exiting into the rather dimly lit and narrow corridors before heading towards the direction of the food court. "We're going to need Eddy's approval and a majority of the maintenance staff to help us with this crazy idea, Jun." Tommy stated to the woman, who simply nodded. "I mean... do you think we should do it?" He asked, before Jun turned to him briskly. "Either we grab this SWAT Van now, or we'll come to regret it later when someone else drives off with the prize. Best to act, and worry about it later. We need weapons, and a radio to the police if they're of any fuckin' help." Jun sighed, before pushing the double doors into the food court.
