History:
-Samuel Greene Jr. is the only son of Samuel Greene Senior, who was the original owner of 'Sam's Sporting Goods' which was later inherited by the current Sam after he retired from the US Army. Sam is a Vietnam War Veteran, who was drafted at the age of 19. The war shaped his life, as most Vietnam Vets or even Soldiers who seen hellish combat and survived had, and in spite of wading through that 'Green Hell', he remained in the Military for a few years after his tour of duty. He married and had two children, and when his father passed away, retired from the army to settle in Raccoon City where he resumed control of the family store.

Not a good businessman at first, and suffering from alcoholism and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, his wife took the kids and left him as the business began tanking. Somehow, however, Sam pulled himself out of the darkness and went to college to get a degree in business and after a couple of loans and some cooperation with his competition and good friends the Kendo Brothers, he managed to save his family business. In 1983 he opened 'Motel Dere' across from the Stagla Gas Station and not too far from the sporting goods store, making it ideal to swing between both business ventures.

As mentioned, he is friends with Robert and Joseph Kendo, and oddly Brian Irons who helped him get that loan in the first place.

During the outbreak, Greene was checking in on the Motel when a number of his 'guests' became flesh-eating freaks. Watching a pair of officers die to the pack of savages made it clear he was on his own. Grabbing the shotgun he kept for security under the Motel Desk Counter, the old vet begins to stockade and defend the Motel, aiding any 'humans' still out in the street, while dealing with the mutants with 00 Buckshot...
