Background & Other Details:

A custom 120mm Smooth Bore Rail Cannon developed by M.S.F R&D, Diamond Dogs R&D, Umbrella Labs R&D and finalized by Arms Tech in 1993. It is one of the RAVEN's most distinguishable firearms at his disposal. An electromagnetic gun that fires bullets with magnetic force. As a movable conductor it uses plasma electrons to boost acceleration capabilities. The kinetic energy of the ammunition is approximately ten megajoules. Incidentally, that of a 140 mm smooth bore gun ammunition is twenty megajoules. The ammunition itself are 5-inch long, 2-inch wide, custom shaped Umbrella Steel slugs with fluted chambers and conical heads on each end to make the projectile lighter and more aerodynamic while it travels through the air. The shots sound like a screaming bird of prey or even a 'Conspiracy of Ravens' as they fly through the air due to the fluted chambers moving past the sound barrier. Umbrella Steel is highly durable, and reusable, so there are trackers in his suit that allow RAVEN to locate Umbrella Steel on his radar for recollection. The RAVEN also has custom flechette rounds made with Carbon Steel that 'explode' halfway through travel, and shower a target field with razor sharp shrapnel, as well as a High Explosive Round that has stabilizers to make the projectile fly accurately- but at the cost of range due to the weight, but with the force and explosive yield of a 40mm HE Grenade. The magazine size for the Rail Gun is 8. The weapon 'by reports' has only three charge levels, but due to tweaks with former Diamond Dog, Jack Handy, the weapon has 5 levels of charge, with level five being volatile and potentially harmful for RAVEN as it requires him to link the power from the rifle to his suit.
