History: Edward Holden was once a member of Umbrella's special projects division, advanced scientific research team alpha under Dr. Sanchez. it was in this capacity that Ed had come into contact and became good friends with Dr. James Ferral. Together, the tree men had developed a synergy of Umbrella's various viral agents that nobody else had managed. Combining the best elements of each, while eliminating the negative drawbacks. This was done in secret, away from the prying eyes of the other teams - as Lord Ozwold Spencer had lost faith in the loyalty of the other project leads. This intuition proved to be accurate when first Marcus, then Birkin, and finally Alexia all betrayed him in turn. However, even Sanchez's unit was not immune from betrayal, as 20 years prior to James and Birkin's betrayals, Ferral executed Sanchez, and supposedly Ed as well.

However, not all was what it seemed. Ferral, through his friendship with Ed, learned that Edward carried a unique bloodline trait that allowed him to perfectly synergise with the Progenitor Virus and any offshoot they made from it - making him the perfect host. He dragged Ed's then average sized corpse into his lab and sealed it. For two decades, James Ferral worked on Edgar, using the various viral compounds and parasitical samples they had collected, stored and created, to transform Edgar into the perfect host, and the ultimate BOW Monster, the Giganotosaurus Giga - Gigantic Lizard God.

Now, at the onset of the Raccoon City Outbreak, using the chaos provided by Marcus and Birkin's defection as a distraction, Ferral secretly releases the human from of the Giga, a much larger man than Ed once was, with no memories of his former self, into the world. With the ultimate monster disguased as a man, and his finger on Ed's trigger, Ferral is in the perfect position to escape the Raccoon trap.
